About this deal

The average contrast ratio of the screen was measured at a slightly disappointing 1896:1 which was strong thanks to the VA technology panel but a fair bit lower than the specified 2500:1 figure. The response time at 120Hz remains incredible, and you won't notice much motion blur with fast-moving objects. The Samsung is better for dark rooms because it has a VA panel with a better contrast ratio, while the Gigabyte has wider viewing angles because it has an IPS panel.

The Samsung's black frame insertion (BFI) feature is far more versatile, as it's available across the entire refresh rate range of the monitor, as low as 60Hz, while the BFI on the LG is only available in a narrow range. In August we took a detailed look at the new 27″ sized Odyssey G7 display from Samsung which impressed us a lot. Lighter greys and other colours will appear a little darker from head on than they will from a side angle, but you may well find you lose some detail as a result.Since the contrast measurements are quite a bit higher than Samsung's advertised 2500:1 contrast for this display, we remeasured the contrast ratio. Obviously we will refresh all our tests, results and commentary where necessary but there are some sections that will be the same (e. The input lag changes depending on the settings you use, and you can see the different results below.

The screen behaves as it should in this regard, with a reduction in the luminance output of the screen controlled by the reduction in the OSD brightness setting. An X-rite i1 Display Pro Plus colorimeter was also used to verify the black point and contrast ratio since the i1 Pro 2 spectrophotometer is less reliable at the darker end.The Samsung has a curved VA panel with a higher contrast for deeper blacks and a local dimming feature, which the LG doesn't have. We would have rather had a flat format screen in this size to be honest, leaving the curve for the Odyssey G9 49″ mega-wide model where it is much more useful and relevant. Luminance at the default high 100% brightness level was recorded at 368 cd/m 2 which is a far too high for prolonged general use, you will need to turn that down. The Samsung is available in a 27-inch and 32-inch size, while the Dell is only available in a 27-inch size.

The Samsung Odyssey G7 C32G75T is a higher-end monitor than the Samsung Odyssey G3 F27G35T, so it performs better overall. They even have different panel types as the Samsung has a much higher contrast ratio, and it performs better in dark rooms, while the HP has wider viewing angles, making it better for co-op gaming. The Samsung Odyssey G7/G70B S32BG70 and the LG 27GR93U-B are both excellent 4k, 144Hz gaming monitors.com Services and marketing information, new product and service announcements as well as special offers, events and newsletters. For this to work, Adaptive Sync has to be disabled on the monitor, and the monitor has to be set to 'HDMI AV' mode. The VA panel on the Samsung is a better choice for a dark room, with better contrast and better black uniformity. The Samsung is available in a 27 inch and 32 inch size, while the ASUS is only available in a 27 inch. The Samsung Odyssey Neo G7 S32BG75 is a newer version of the Samsung Odyssey G7 C32G75T, and both monitors are very different.
