Top notes are carnation, amalfi lemon, lime and pepper; middle notes are lavender, amber, mint and spices; base notes are woodsy notes and musk. Today there are also Jōvan Musk varieties of aftershave and deodorant, as well as a Musk Oil Gold for women. Jōvan's early marketing campaigns became industry benchmarks and, during the Rolling Stones' 1981 "Tattoo You" Tour, it was the first-ever fragrance to sponsor a rock band. Interweaving notes of fresh bergamot and warm spice add depth along with the subtle earthy notes of sandalwood and tonka bean.
