We like how Wharfedale has avoided excess; there’s enough bass weight to satisfy but not so much that it spoils the balance of the presentation. The lows are agile, satisfyingly rich and textured with it. As I said, the layout is tight—with everything plugged in. The Wifi dongle/antenna can only be set straight. Let’s talk Sonos. After a firmware update, the Brennan B2 CD Ripper and Hard disk Jukebox works seamlessly with the Sonos speaker system. Just hit the Scan button and the B2 will find it. They sent me a Sonos One SL to test this out and it worked great. Not only that, the Sonos One has killer audio. (Don’t tell Brennan, but the Sonos One SL speaker sounds much richer than Brennan’s own speakers). We are always impartial in our testing and ensure we hear every CD player at its optimum – connected to the appropriate kit and placed on a sturdy and level surface. We'll use them in their best use case with different partnering amplifiers and speakers, as well as play plenty of discs in different genres of music through them. Whether you think it’s sophisticated in looks or not, this system is certainly a sophisticated listen. The Marantz pairing, as we say, work well together – as you would expect – and the new Bluesound streamer adds a punch of rhythmic consistency to proceedings that is rather impressive for its price. it'll either be in the encoding of the audio (which might be being changed depending on how it's streaming - and yes perhaps this will be changed based on bandwidth available ) or in the hardware post decode
