A very refreshingly honest and though hilarious (as you’d expect), it starts with a very transparent account of Rylan’s/Ross’ breakdown following the end of his marriage and its aftermath. It was good to hear how transparent and open he felt he could be and to hear how supported he was by his loved ones (including accounts from some of his well known friends). Speaking of whom, I loved the accounts by them - perhaps my favourites were from his wonderful Mum, Linda and his sister-in-law, Jayne. Rylan, 33, previously opened up about his ill health last year following the breakdown of his marriage. When the last Bit on the Side aired in 2018, I felt uncomfortable. It felt too Rylan focused , partly why I feel ITV might have snubbed him for the revival - I like Rylan , he comes across as kind and funny, and he appreciates alcohol and cigarettes just like I do! However , he does come across as a bit self centred - but that’s ok! I’m sure he’s a decent lad. I completely changed my opinion of Rylan in Big Brother, and he is the sort of person I could imagine having in my circle of friends.

If you aren’t a fan of Rylan I’m taking a guess you’ll hate this. If you like him you’ll find it interesting

Light and funny moments certainly but also some very honest and moving sections too - I enjoyed reading it. Ross/Rylan seems like a great laugh and I hope we see continue to see him on TV. There will be stuff that you know [Alex Jones] that isn't in the book but it's my book and this is my responsibility and it's on me. Speaking about the split at the time, Rylan said: “I have made a number of mistakes which I deeply regret and have inevitably led to the breakdown of our marriage.”

Made all the more special by Rylan’s mum Linda, Clare from steps, his sister in law, his friend and make up artist and his tv mum Ruth writing/reading their own little sections.
