Aya re expanding their range of gaming handhelds with a new model which features a faster processor as well as a new retro themed model and accessories. Aya Neo 2021 Pro Technical Specifications Some of the updates being made to the AYA NEO include the addition of analogue triggers, new speakers, a new cooling fan, and more. Note that all newly received AYA NEO units after these first 500 will be the upgraded version. The various parts of the AYA NEO And finally there is a retro themed mechanical keyboard. Aya mentioned that a non-engraved version will be initially released. This will be followed by side or positive engraved key caps in the future. Aya Neo 2021 Pro Release Date The Aya Neo 2021 Pro has officially been announced! We take a look at and discuss the system specs, new designs and improvements over the original Aya Neo AMD Windows gaming handheld.

We continue our AYA NEO 2021 Pro review with some benchmarks. For all of the benchmarks we are running at 20W TDP instead of the default 15W. This is so we are able to compare it to other devices such as the ONEXPLAYER 1S handheld gaming PC which has a default 20W TDP. PassMark

So is the AYA NEO worth buying? While it is a good handheld in its price range, by spending a little more you could buy a more powerful Intel based handheld. Or if you wanted to sacrifice some battery power, you could simply increase the TDP to a higher amount to get more in that target performance. The 7-inch display is what sets it apart from its most immediate counterpart, the GPD Win 3. This does mean that the AYA NEO is slightly larger, but still ultimately very portable. It is also approximately 100g heavier. The model we have here is the Aya Neo founders edition which was released earlier this year. The final model will have some improvements over Founders Edition which we will discuss further on in the article. Aya Neo Technical Specifications Here is a round up of all of the benchmark results with some other devices scores to compare them. Don’t forget, you can find the full comparison scores on our Handheld Gaming PC Benchmarks article. As such we are not going to directly compare it to other handhelds as we would have to have the same older emulator version which is not what people will use. So we are showing some random PS2, PS3 PSP, Xbox, Xbox 360 and other consoles in our video. Where possible I have included the Afterburner stats, or the emulators built in frame counter for your reference. In our Aya Neo preview, we take a look at the handheld gaming PC which the final version is due for release mid to late September. We will be taking a look at the technical specifications, an overview of the device and what changes are expected in the final model. As well as a brief look at some games for their performance. We start the benchmarks in our AYA NEO NEXT review with PCMark which runs a series of tests for everyday tasks such as web browsing, right through to image and video processing. This test gives us a good look at how the AYA NEO NEXT PRO handheld performs in different situations. The Aya Neo features the AMD Ryzen 5 4500U processor with Radeon Graphics, 16GB of fast 4266MHz LPDDR4X RAM. There will be a choice of 512GB or 1TB of M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD. It has WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5 support for wireless connectivity. And there’s three 4100mAh batteries to keep everything running for good gaming sessions on your Ryzen handheld. The Lowest graphics benchmark scores 58 FPS average. And the Highest graphics benchmark scores an average 28 frames per second. This is a newer benchmark we are running so we can’t compare it to previous handhelds. Benchmark Summary That latter point is crucial in managing battery life. Out of the box, three power levels are supported: 5W for battery conservation, an 8W 'balanced' mode and a 12W gaming mode, meant for modern titles. There's also a user-configurable Pro mode, where you choose the power limit up to 15W on the standard Air and 18W on the Air Pro. The higher the power limit, the less battery life you'll have, but also the harder the cooling assembly needs to work. And the machine can get rather warm, if not hot to the touch at higher wattages. In my tests, 5W is a write-off for gaming, 8W is fine for very low-end titles or 2D games (Cuphead works beautifully, as an example) while 12W is the place to be for the best ratio between power and performance. That said, 15W often provides the extra juice required to turn sub-30fps gameplay into a more palatable experience. This, again, points out the utility of the Pro model with the larger battery, even if you opt for one without the enhanced Ryzen 7 processor - the fact is that the bigger battery makes accessing those higher power limits more comfortable in terms of battery life. There are some improvements using 20W TDP in games that take advantage of multicore CPUs, especially with Forza Horizon 4 seeing a very good increase in frames per second. The AYA NEO will have around 2 to 5 hours of battery life, depending on the game it is being used to play (more intensive games will equal less battery life). You can also change the TDP of the AYA NEO to further adjust the battery life. What chargers does the AYA NEO support? The AYA NEO NEXT PRO takes the lead on the system benchmarks with the highest on PCMark and 3DMark. AMD processors are generally better than Intel when pushed to their peak performance in tests like these.

Like many of the [Switch] inspired gaming handhelds currently, the AYA NEO’s design is fundamentally no different from its contemporaries. Wrapping up our AYA NEO NEXT PRO review with is it worth upgrading. If you have the original Aya Neo Founders Edition, then the Next Pro is definitely worth considering upgrading to. We are getting around a 17% average increase in performance across the benchmarks. Compared to the 2021 Pro, we get around an 8% increase in performance. It’s a decent increase, but maybe not enough to warrant upgrading from that model. There are also rumours that there is a Ryzen 7 4800U version in the works, but this is currently unconfirmed. RAM & Storage

At the end of the first match there is an average frames per second of 26. Will it be higher or lower than the Intel model handhelds? AYA NEO Benchmark Results When it comes to Processing power, the AYANEO Next Pro PC Gaming Handheld is no slouch on the couch.Underneath the protective foam is a USB charge cable and two USB Type-C to Type-A adapters. Power supply and worldwide plug adapters The AYA NEO NEXT and PRO measures around 10.5 x 4.4 x 1.18 inches (26.7 x 11.2 x 3 cm) at its largest points, and it weighs 715 grams. AYA NEO NEXT PRO
