About this deal

The Tripp Holiday 6 collection comes in three different sizes - cabin, medium and large - and six different colours, which means you know you’ll be able to find something that suits you. The Tripp Holiday 6 is instantly recognisable Credit: Tripp Tripp Holiday 6 suitcase: Key features and specifications Made from lightweight polypropylene, it will protect your belongings whether you’re travelling short or long haul without helping you to go over your weight allowance.

I love the price point of Tripp suitcases. They provide the necessities in luggage; strong, ultra-lightweight bags for a great price. It looks stylish too; and, unless everyone else buys a Tripp suitcase after reading this, they’re pretty easy to spot at an airport. Compared to other large suitcases, this one is pretty much in the middle in terms of size and capacity but it’s definitely one of the lightest options around. What makes the design so distinctive is the instantly recognisable pattern on the front - squares with rounded corners, arranged in a four by six pattern - which is the same regardless of the size and colour of the case. Cabin: measures 55 x 40 x 20cm, has a 37L capacity, and weighs 2.7kg. This size is suitable as carry-on luggage for British Airways (and most international airlines), EasyJet Up Front and Ryanair Priority. That said, at this size you hopefully won’t have to drag it too far. Tripp Holiday 6 suitcase: The verdict

You need to fully open the case to retrieve an item, which is especially difficult when space is limited, like on board a plane/trainTRIPP is one of the most popular luggage brands in the UK and they are known for their budget-friendly suitcases. This review is for the Tripp Holiday 6 four wheel cabin size suitcase. Should you need something bigger, the range also has a medium (66L capacity) and large (102L capacity) cases. The Holiday 6 is the latest addition to the Tripp Cabin suitcase range. It’s big enough for a weekend break, capable of accommodating enough clothing and other essential items for a short break.

And while it’s not the cheapest option around, it has a lot of features that you would usually find on premium suitcases without the associated price tag. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing; a bit of give in the shell actually means the case is less likely to be damaged when it bumps into things or is thrown around by baggage handlers. The plastic, rather than fabric, exterior means it is splash resistant should you be caught in an unexpected rainstorm or need to wheel your bag through a puddle. It’s worth noting that water can penetrate through the reinforced single zip so the case is not entirely waterproof. The retractable handle can be a bit stiff to extend and retract, and it doesn’t come out as far as other suitcases we’ve tried in the past. As for the wheels, they are perfectly adequate on smooth floors but when you get it out on the carpet or on bumpy pavement, it does occasionally struggle. Whether or not you like the clamshell design is entirely a personal decision and not reflective of Tripp or other manufacturers.

The Tripp Holiday 6 is a hard clamshell design made of 100% polypropylene built around an aluminium frame. These elements contribute to the case’s light weight, coming in at just 2.7kg.We tested the style in a large, which is ideal for family holidays where you’re all sharing a case, or for long haul breaks where you need to bring a bit more along. It’s not going to last you forever, but if you don’t travel frequently you should get a few years’ use out of it. The three-digit combination works by securing the zippers into place. The Tripp range comes with a handy guide to creating your bespoke code, ensuring peace of mind from any unauthorised access when your bag is out of sight.
