About this deal

The book became the inspiration for the TV series Follyfoot almost a decade later. The series had a massively pro-animal stance. Characters who saw horses as disposable and of no use once they could no longer work were shown in a distinctly negative light. Another horse, Jon Jon, in episode nine, was a rag-and-bone pony in real life. In episode ten, a pony called Glory was played by Gloria, who had a taste for orange juice.

The first three episodes were released on video in 1995. No further releases ever came to light, and this video has long been deleted. Callie Holmes ( Gillian Bailey): teenage schoolgirl who occasionally helps out at Follyfoot. In the episode Moonstone, Callie coerces Steve into helping her hide a horse she's stolen from the circus, believing the animal to be unhappy. Steve is naturally twitchy because of his criminal past. Callie has a crush on Steve. The farm kitchen is run by a rough-and-ready old boxer named Slugger (Arthur English), who had been the Colonel’s batman during his army career. Also in the action is farmhand Ron Stryker (Christian Rodska), a layabout biker with a heart of gold beneath his abrasive exterior. A pony lover's dream, Follyfoot is a great adventure story which will also touch the heart of all who care about animals. Full of drama and action which shows children acting resourcefully to protect their beloved horses; this is a heart-warming story which stands the test of time brilliantly. I thought people can be cruel but what happened to some of these horses is disgraceful, well written And while the interviews with the stars are welcome, the answer to almost every question asked begs a follow-up question that is not asked. This is frustrating. It’s rare to hear these actors talk about Follyfoot, so it feels like an opportunity missed.

Cast: John Barrie (Ed Foley), Richard Beaumont (Gavin Foley), Freda Jeffries (Cauliflower Woman), Barbara Keogh (Apple Woman), Ray Mort (Policeman), Norma Shebbeare (Minnie Foley), Leon Vitali (Brian Foley), Jo Warne (Onion Woman) Gillian Blake (born 10 May 1949) is a retired British actress who became well known in the early 1970s as Dora in Follyfoot. SUMMARY: Groom Steve rescues the ill-treated Cobbler's Dream, a showjumper who has been almost blinded by the vicious girl who owned him. Now out of a job he winds up at the Follyfoot Home of Rest for horses where he meets Dora, the dedicated girl who works there, along with a cast of other eccentric characters who seem almost as troubled as their charges. Ron Stryker ( Christian Rodska): the third of the trio of young workers at Follyfoot but also the shadiest. He is known to the police and one of his friends is Lewis Hammond, member of local miscreant gang the Night Riders. His father persuaded the Colonel to give him a job at Follyfoot to help keep him out of trouble, yet Ron is workshy and ignores constant warnings not to burst through the main gate at Follyfoot with his distinctive Triumph Tiger motorbike. Despite the rough exterior, Ron is essentially warm-hearted and loves the horses as much as everyone else. Ron is already working at Follyfoot when Dora, then Steve, arrive.

Cast: Rio Fanning (Reporter), Len Jones (Willy Willens), John Lyons (Photographer), Margery Mason (Mrs. Willens), Bryan Sweeney (Gip Willens) One Pair of Feet (1942) recounted her work as a nurse, and subsequently she worked in an aircraft factory and on the Hertfordshire Express – a local newspaper in Hitchin; her experiences in the latter field of work inspired her 1951 book My Turn to Make the Tea. [2] Winning the Harlequin Award for best production at the 1972 BAFTAs, it was so popular during its first run that it was sold to many countries overseas.
