About this deal

Not to be confused with catnip or catmint, cat grass is the collective name for a few different types of grass that can be grown at home for your cat. Cat Grass is an excellent way for your cat to get the exercise and nutrition it needs without going outdoors. Our Cat Grass kits come with everything you need to grow wheatgrass from seed right in your own home. Cat grass planter helps keep cats occupied, active and alert while keeping them away from household plants that they may be tempted to eat. Tummy trouble - Some theories suggest that cat grass helps your cat to regurgitate hairballs, getting rid of the fur from grooming that clogs their digestive tract.

As soon as the soil gets damp, you can stop. Water seeds daily during the first few days before and during the sprouting process. NOTE: If it is Summer with high humidity mold is more likely to develop if kept in a room that is too humid and dark. If, during this time, you find traces of mold, uncover the pot and place the pot outside but still keep it in a shaded area. By the third day move the pots to a sunny location once you see small pale grass sprouts. Oat Grass is considered to have the most flavour of all cat grass (think Cabernet Sauvignon) but also serves as a good source of protein and soluble fibre. The Window Garden is an indoor cat grass garden that attaches right to any window with suction cups! Your indoor cat will love hunting down bugs from the comfort of your home. Also, the suction cup installation makes it easy to clean without taking up space. The grass should last for around two weeks of munching. Afterwards, you will want to replace it with a new pot, or scrap the whole thing altogether if your cat isn't fussed. The only way to tell is to try!

This grass planting tray is made from plastic, and it also has three grass planting trays – the grass planting trays have grass seeds so your kitty can have grass to nibble on while doing their business. This grass planter is a great way to train your cat to use grass instead of sand or soil when doing their business. Soaking seeds before planting is optional – I skip out on this step and still have seeds that sprout and grow fine. If you choose to do this, soak the seeds in a bowl of water for between 6-8 hours before planting. Doing so allows the seeds to get adequate moisture to help them sprout, without the need to water any extra in the beginning.

Taste - While it doesn't seem very appetising to us, your cat may love the taste (and more importantly, texture) of a little roughage in their diet. Excuse the little hands, my daughter wanted to help Step 1: Soak seeds anywhere between 6-8 hours (optional)GimCat GrasBits: If growing cat grass would not fit into your lifestyle or you’re simply looking for something a little tidier, there are other ways to incorporate nutritious cat grass into your darling’s diet. For example, these tabs contain natural cat grass vitamins and will be a firm favourite. The optimal conditions for growing cat grass are bright light but not direct sunlight, room temperature (65 degrees F), and moist soil without allowing it to become soggy or waterlogged. The owner should expect their houseplants to be ready within approximately ten days after planting. If your cats allow, harvest some sprigs of their cat grass for smoothies or juicing, cut at the base just above the root. Blend with water in a blender and strain the juice or use the grass directly in your juicer.

The cat grass kit is catnip-based and includes cat grass seeds that sprout into cat grass in as little as ten days. This simple starter kit also comes with a cork trivet for growing the cat grass, so it doesn’t get damaged by the heat of the home environment. In this instalment of The Cat Guide we're talking grass, from the different types available, to the health benefits and how to grow your own. After reading through some articles, I kind of felt like I made all types of mistakes. I was convinced that I used the wrong soil and the wrong containers, and I watered it too much! If you’re growing it yourself try planting a handful of seeds at a time. If you have more than one cat, perhaps give them each their own pot. Cats often overeat when they’re ill so make sure to monitor them to make sure if they’re eating excessively that they’re not vomiting too often and that they’re not ill. I saw a lady who grew cat grass without covering the seeds at all and it turned out great! So maybe this step is optional as well? Feel free to experiment yourself. Step 5: Water seeds (if you didn’t presoak your seeds, they’ll need a bit of extra water for a couple days)
