About this deal

After the grand arrival of our elf on December 1, we're tasked with not only moving it from place to place, but also making sure it's doing something funny, cute or clever that will delight the kids when they wake up in the morning. Twenty-four days of this (or more if you follow the Scout Elf Return Week, which starts November 23)? It's a lot! So if you're on day two and completely stumped with what mischief your elf can get into tomorrow, read on for all the best and easiest Elf on the Shelf ideas for Christmas that you can use to keep the fun going all December long. What is Elf on a Shelf? Add a sign saying “Do Not feed the dinosaurs” for extra cheeky fun. 66. Elf on the Shelf’s last day Take your elves straight to Hawaii with an enviable beach set-up complete with sand, tiny chairs, umbrellas and any mini sand toys you can find. The biggest obstacle might be wishing you could also be in Hawaii this season! 47. A little help here?

To set this up, you need:Gift Wrap, an empty box, a goDog Dragon, craft knife, plastic snowflake, mini candy cane, pipe cleaner or craft wire. Optional: paper firePop Elf into the biscuit jar or tin and have him just peeking out of the top. Trail a few crumbs around the outside of the jar to show he’s been eating them in the night! 57. Face masks You’ll need to stuff the Elf into the balloon then blow it up. Push it in head first – its quite hard to do feet first! Those naughty elves are found all around the home during the Christmas season, often getting up to no good in the process. Kids who play are filled with anticipation each morning, as they begin the daily hunt for the elf sent by Father Christmas.

The elf moves into the family home, usually sometime during December. They then get up to all kinds of mischief – yet the kids will never see them move. You could also – if you don’t mind the mess – squeeze some toothpaste around the sink to make it look like the Elf got carried away when cleaning their teeth. 24. Hanging out DIY With My Guy has created a printable letter from your Elf to help make this idea work. 62. Use these fun FREE printable notes

The next day put out two Kinder Eggs, or similar egg-shaped treat, instead of the real eggs. This one gives you two days of ideas! 4. Elf is riding on a sleigh

Every night when the kids are in bed, parents across Australia are now placing the elf somewhere unexpected so the kids can have fun hunting for them each morning. Print the funniest human (or animal) body you can find and do a little peek-a-boo elf cutout. If you attempt a human body one day, maybe try an animal later in the month. We love a multipurpose idea! 54. Where is the lie?

How to get swole at the North Pole: Grab two marshmallows (gum drops would work too!) and a straw for your elf's own private sweat sesh. 19. Snow angels for Santa.

They encourage your kids to be well behaved and they’ll love to collect them all, so hopefully this should be a win-win! 63. Elves are playing a game The reindeer Elf on the Shelf set includes a super cute reindeer plush toy, plus a book telling the tale of this new ‘reindeer tradition’. It's time to bust out the wrapping paper and make the smallest room in your house, aka the bathroom, one giant present. There is certainly a huge "wow factor" for kids. Courtesy Jessica N. Turner 39. Twist and shout! Use Cheerios or another suitable cereal so the elf can spell out a secret message. What does your elf want to say? Elf on the Shelf cutleryI absolutely loved when they released a pet reindeer and a pet dog for your Elf on the Shelf! (Don’t get me started on sizing though: why is the reindeer so small and the dog so BIG? It’s weird, right?!) As soon as I saw it, I loved the idea of the Elf going about her life as a pet owner while we all sleep. Parking jam! It's time for the toy cars to get involved in the seasonal fun. Line them up and put the elf on the largest vehicle for some traffic that may surely make the kids smile. 32. Spidey senses. If you've got clean laundry, you've got what you need to prep this silly scene. The kids will laugh out loud when they see their underwear draped all over the tree. 52. Just a small elf sip. Use a craft knife to cut open one side. Use jagged uneven cuts so it looks like the dragon busted out. Sometimes parents also choose, from time to time, to leave small gifts ‘from Santa’ alongside the elf to reward their children for good behaviour.
