About this deal

El caso es que el primer relato me gustó mucho (es de mis favoritos de todo el libro) y sí que era justo lo que yo estaba buscando. Mysteries revolving around theft, strange occurrences or other weird stuff just aren't interesting to me, especially in middle grade books where you know that the resolution can't be anything mind-blowing – so the majority of what I had read just fell flat for me. There’s characters of all races, religions and sexualities, which is refreshing and hugely important in literature for younger readers.

L. Norry, Elle McNicoll, Joanna Williams, Maisie Chan, Nizrana Farook, Patrice Lawrence, Roopa Farooki, Serena Patel and Sharna Jackson, this is a festive treat of a book for all young mystery lovers: perfect with a cup of hot chocolate and a cosy chair. We also share information about your use of our site with our social media, advertising and analytics partners. I have rated each story individually as I felt there was no valid rating for the entire book as a whole.

The murder itself is not gory or particularly brutal, and will therefore be well received by all but the most sensitive of readers.

I really enjoyed reading Mystery and Mayhem, so I’m excited to read another mystery anthology- especially a Christmas-themed one! I like the idea of Christmas short mystery stories, but how this was portrayed was not my favourite. The Very Merry Murder Club is a collection of 13 wintery mystery stories by 13 amazing children’s authors: Abiola Bello, Annabelle Sami, Benjamin Dean, E. If you’re a new user, or using a new username, it may take a little while for your comment to appear as I have to approve it. The Very Merry Murder Club is a brilliant new anthology, featuring short stories from a range of top authors! To top it off, the collection is beautifully illustrated by Harry Woodgate, with a charming illustration accompanying each story plus an absolutely stunning wraparound winter scene on the hardback cover, which cleverly incorporates an element from every story in the book. Bookwagon recommends The Very Merry Murder Club as an ideal book for reading alone, enjoying greatly, sharing and gifting. What’s more, Harry Woodgate, picture book creator of Timidoffers illustrations of such interest and definition. Again, fun to read at times, but I don’t know because it was more fantasy/more magical and had a very inconclusive ending I just wasn’t a fan of the story.
