About this deal

Sporting a 119sq in head size and 28mm thick beam, the ProKennex is certainly a forgiving racket to play with.

This extension of three-quarters of an inch might seem slight, but results in noticeable gains on the court. But if you’re just looking for a knock-around option you can use to hit balls with your kids, or if you lack the hand-eye coordination to start with something smaller as you learn the basics of the sport, two of our experts say this could be an option to consider. The Yonex VCORE 95 is the best racquet for players focused on aggressive attacking spin and precision. While it’s a great racket for beginners, it doesn’t quite suit junior players because it’s such a power oriented racket.

The lightweight frame makes the racket super easy to swing and thanks to its large head size, it also packs quite a punch.

Comments: I am 67 years old and have long played at a high level with a pair of Head Intelligence Racquets. On the other hand, a racquet with a thick beam is a little bit stiffer which may not suit some players.

The only issue I had was I strung it with gut and kept snapping strings every three sets or so, I now use Babolat excel at 55lbs and the racquet is a dream. We tested the Head Ti S6 with Head Synthetic Gut at 61 pounds, which is usually the way entry-level rackets are strung.

I always listened to whatever anybody else had to say until I found myself in such a mess that I just wanted to say goodbye to tennis. Endorsed by Naomi Osaka and Nick Kyrgios, the Yonex EZONE 98 racquet is the best intermediate racquet on the market. Poly strings are stiffer and last much longer than synthetic gut, so they’ll hold their tension better and will offer a little extra control. Novices should look for something lightweight that makes it easier for them to perfect their form and move across a court.

Despite its ultra-lightweight design—which can sometimes make a racquet feel less stable—this racquet provides even balance and optimal maneuverability on the court. Generating a lot of power, even with the factory strings, great for baseline play, easy on the net, reaching balls as it is an oversize. In general, the Head Ti S6 racket is incredibly forgiving, easy to swing, and provides lots of power.
