These Special Release Doctor Who Complete Season Blu Ray Sets have become the definitive must-have items for any serious collector of the shows TV archival past. The love and attention that the individual stories receive, both in terms of sound and picture enhancement, by its dedicated team of restorers, is nothing short of miraculous. Given that much of the original archive is held either on original PAL Video Masters, or on the much inferior telecine, expectations were fairly low that the process would produce anything that was notably better than the original DVD releases. It is very satisfying to report that this assumption has been proven incorrect with each and every release of the these sets, the current Season 9 set being no exception. As with the UK releases, disc replacements were made available for seasons 12 and 18, and reissues included the replacement discs.
