About this deal

There are many PC based USB adapters that allow use to use GameCube controllers as standard controllers that can be configured in Dolphin for the "Standard Controller" GameCube option and the "Emulated Wii Remote" option. First of all, I think closing the thread I was replying to because it was inactive was quite rude since I was contributing to it, and further responses may've helped future users. If you do start a new thread, it's perfectly fine to link to other threads as reference, or include and relevant quotes.

Sensor Bar for use with Dolphin? Best Sensor Bar for use with Dolphin?

Dolphin has native support for the GameCube Controller Adapter once you have installed the proper driver, so feel free to ignore the PC mode unless you wish to use the controller in other applications.Furthermore, despite its potential, it didn't support RVL-CNT-01-TR Wii Remote Pluses, the only type of Wii Remote currently in production. but even if you did that the charger wouldn't be able to negotiate a higher voltage with the device so it would stay at 5V. So I've heard a lot about the DolphinBar so far but apparently it seems to have issues with LEDs burning out. My only issue now is that the IR LEDS have gotten very dim becuase of the heat build up and thus the bar isn't usable as a sensor bar for me anymore but that was before the firmware to shut the ir leds off came about.

This list contains a USB powered sensor bar (needs to be plugged in to your computer) as well as a fully wireless sensor bar (requires 4 AA batteries for power). Any software that is not designed to recognize this difference will have problems, and the vast majority of first person shooters are completely oblivious. Both the jitter and the absolute coordinates issues are very old problems that have to do with how the Wii Remote is designed. If you’ve got some dumps of your original game disks these will work great otherwise Google will help you find almost any game you’re after. It also had an innovative infra red camera system so it could also see where you were pointing the handset and to give some basic 3D spatial measurements. See the review for more details, but be warned that review is from many years ago and the landscape has changed quite a bit. Generally, it's acceptable to revive an old thread if you're adding new information or answers to previously asked question rather than asking for assistance (which we prefer to be a separate thread, even if it is related to a different thread). So all I really need is just a good sensor bar that puts out the infrared light, I don't necessarily need something with all of the features that DolphinBar has.

If this mode supported XInput, almost any PC game made in the past eight years would immediately be controllable by a Classic Controller Pro, greatly increasing the DolphinBar's usefulness outside of emulation. Simply, i want to cut the original plug and utilize the wires of the USB cable in disuse to unite, but i don't have more technical knownledge, just to splice the wires. There is also some stuff you can do in the controller configuration to get a pointer without having a sensor bar (either using the mouse or using MotionPlus), but plugging the sensor bar into your Wii is probably the best solution if you can put the Wii close enough to your computer. Most importantly, I'd prefer it to not be required to run on batteries and have the option to connect it into the PC via a USB connection.

However, it’s worth noting right off the bat, this device is not for those looking to use it with a Wii or Wii U console. Supports four working modes:Keyboard and Mouse Mode (LED1), Keyboard and Mouse Game Mode(LED2), Game Controller Mode (LED3)and Wii Remote Controller Emulator Mode (LED4). The DolphinBar provides users with a solid sensor bar, easy to use Wiimote support, built in -TR compatibility without requiring a guide, and the added bonus of letting Wiimote accessories be used in the GCPad and other emulators! All of this meant that the Wii was able to combine traditional button and joystick controls with motion and pointing inputs to create some very original gameplay. The DolphinBar, in "Mode 3", allows users to use a Wii Remote, Wii Remote + Nunchuk, or a Wii Classic Controller as a system-level DInput gamepad, which can be set up like a 360 controller or any other gamepad within Dolphin's GCpad config.
