About this deal

I was startled to get a wonderful reply letter and we struck up a correspondence and eventually became e-mail ‘friends’, long before Facebook. By touching and invoking the Leering, one can see the location and direction of the next one on the path as well as others standing in the general vicinity of it.

I wasn’t a huge fan of Eilean at first but I warmed up to her, especially because of how she cared about those closest to her and those relationships. I was intrigued when I saw someone say the female characters had depth and where strong but I was really disappointed, they are very stereotypical and flat.

She approached him warily, feeling vulnerable and ill at ease, and snatched her hand back after he took the loaf. If she surmised correctly, the High Seer had come to assign Aldermaston Gilifil to build a new abbey in the newly conquered kingdom of Moros. Comprises the lowlands of Muirwood Hundred and includes several major rivers, thick forests, and stagnant marshes. All she must do is gain Mordaunt’s confidence and trust and persuade the apostate to divulge his secret to her.

I’ve always been impressed by the quality of this house’s acquisitions, but they’ve never aligned with my personal taste. As a primarily Fantasy reader, I had high hopes for Jeff Wheeler's work - and I am very excited to say he lived up to and exceeded my expectations! One of the most curious things about the mastons was their ability to cross from abbey to abbey without horse or wagon. The man still regarded her with suspicion, but he stood aside, giving her a glimpse of Aldermaston Gilifil, whose reddish-gray beard and long locks could be seen beneath the pale gray cassock of his office.

Praise for The Druid "Wheeler loads his tale with magic, intrigue, and believably conflicted characters. Each carving usually has a purpose, such as summoning fresh water, starting a fire, or preventing food from spoiling.

It was also ten years ago that I listened to Kate narrate Muirwood for the first time, thus beginning an epic partnership that has spanned dozens of books. The first of your books I read was Storm Glass, which was a kindle recommendation based on my interest in period piece fantasy books. While I absolutely love The Kingfountain series I have never been as huge a fan of the Muirwood books so I did not start this book with high expectations but I was very quickly won over. No missing or damaged pages, no creases or tears, no underlining or highlighting of text, and no writing in the margins.Even though the island of Avinion was far away, the abbeys were all interconnected through the magic of the Medium. I did have plans to continue this series, but that has been put on hold indefinitely while the publishing situation in China remains at a stand-still. Even after I had finished it, my mind kept churning out ideas for new material and I ended up making it a trilogy. While working with my Chinese publisher, I had hoped to launch this series simultaneously in Chinese and English, but world events made that impossible. Sharon would visit California occasionally for book tours and conferences and Gina and I ended up having dinner with her several times.
