Hurt people hurt people.Say there was a novel in which Holden Caulfield was an alcoholic and Lolita was a photographer’s assistant and, somehow, they met in Bright Lights, Big City . He’s blinded by love. She by ambition. Diary of an Oxygen Thief is an honest, hilarious, and heartrending novel, but above all, a very realistic account of what we do to each other and what we allow to have done to us. Diary of an Oxygen Thief (The Oxygen Thief Diaries, #1) by Anonymous – eBook Details My logic went as follows: If someone hurts you then you automatically want revenge. It doesn’t matter how long it takes, you want revenge. I thought, if I hurt her enough she would want revenge. Therefore, I wouldn’t have to worry about never seeing her again. Because that is what I feared most. The fact that I was losing her.” I'd meet the women the first night and get the obligatory phone number and then after another couple of days, making them sweat a little, I'd call and be all nervous. They loved that. I'd ask them out and pretend I hardly ever did "this kind of thing', I hadn't been out a lot in London because I didn't really know the scene.” I think that addition to his personality was interesting. He was the most untrustworthy narrator I've ever read. His paranoia reached pretty obsessive levels which caused me to question the validity of some of the future scenes. I gazed at her lovingly, but respectfully, the way I had done so many times and meant it. I even meant it then but only because I wanted it to be convincing.

He is a raging misogynist (I am not just to clarify), and so I can understand why people don't like this book. THAT, however, is the exact reason why I DO. This is fictitious work but written as if an autobiography, so we as the reader are reading his thoughts and how he views things. All of his opinions, second guessings, paranoia, excuses, and the justifications he makes to hold up against his actions. Some are just so flabbergasting that it's humorous. Any misfortune to ever happen to him is instantly blamed on his vengeful exes. He flatters himself with delusional scenarios that everyone is out to get him. I’ve never thought much of a girl who swallows. Don’t get me wrong it feels fantastic and I’m aglow with gratitude at the time but only a slut would ever actually do something like that. of 5 stars 2 of 5 stars 3 of 5 stars 4 of 5 stars 5 of 5 stars Diary of an Oxygen Thief by Anonymous I see now that I was in pain and wanted others to feel it, too. This was my way of communicating. I'd meet the women the first night and get the obligatory phone number and then after another couple of days, making them sweat a little, I'd call and be all nervous. They loved that. I'd ask them out and pretend I hardly ever did "this kind of thing" and say that I hadn't been out a lot in London because I didn't really know the scene. This was true, though, because all I used to do was get out of my head in local bars around Camberwell. Then he meets Aisling. A young beauty from Dublin, with innocent eyes and an intelligent mind. He fell in love. Real hard. Obsessively hard. The very fact that they were naturally caring and loving would be the milestone that weighed them down. The formula is perfect. The nurse becomes willing to sacrifice herself in the patient. But the patient isn’t suffering from an external illness, he’s suffering from self-inflicted wounds. The nurse wants to prevent him from this pain. The patient wants her to feel the pain, too.”

Romance has killed more people than Cancer. Ok…maybe not killed but dulled more lives. Removed more hope, sold more medication, caused more tears” I believe that once you experience hurt and heartbreak, you should try to be a part of decreasing its occurrence, especially around the people you care about the most. Apparently not to Mr. Anonymous. Now, aside the fact that the book was narrated by an insensitive, inconsiderate bitter misogynist, I vehemently disliked it for its style; the writing was terrible, inconsistent and repetitive.if you're more special to him than others, then he will probably manipulate you so he stays around in your life. Not romantically, but always on your mind. Italie, Hillel (23 May 2016). "Unnamed 'Oxygen Thief' becomes self-published success". Seattle Times. Seattle Times . Here’s the thing: I don’t normally review or rate the books I dislike. I don’t like bashing them. Especially if the author is still alive. This one, however, is an exception. You may wonder why and I’d tell you because this book pissed me off. Like. Really. Pissed me off. Nothing had ever felt so right to me. If I'm honest, even today I miss hurting. I'm not cured of it, but I don't set out to systematically dismantle like I used to. I don't miss the booze half as much. Oh, to hurt again. Since those heady days I heard an adage that seems to apply here: "Hurt people hurt people." I wanted to know the reason behind anyone being that way. I wanted to know why people would set out to hurt other people, why people would hurt the people they love. Hurt people hurt people more skillfully”. Yes, this might be true sometimes. But You have a choice for goodness’ sake. Pain is always there for most of us. You don’t have to inject it onto others so you feel better. Working at the local processing plant, Marcos is in the business of slaughtering humans —though no one calls them that anymore.Hurt people hurt people more skillfully. An expert heartbreaker knows the effect of each incision. The blade slips in barely noticed, the pain and the apology delivered at the same time.” When I found out this book was a fictionalised memoir, I didn't know whether I should feel excitement or disappointment.

She was very attentive. That was it. She knew how to handle a guy. She made you feel like it was okay to be a guy. To be yourself. This, it seems to me, is the most devastating weapon of all in a woman's arsenal. If you can encourage the man to be himself, to give you his character, his ways, then you know how to navigate him, and therefore, he will never be able to hide from you.” Okay, what can I say about this book? Well, for starters, it's 4 stars but not a good 4 stars. I liked it because it appalled me. I just really enjoy reading about psychotic and disgusting people. It intrigues me and being inside his head and taking a look around was just something else. Mentally, not physically, I never hit a girl in my life. Well, once. But that was a mistake. I'll tell you about it later. The thing is, I got off on it. I really enjoyed it. Hang on. What else? Oh yeah. Here’s what I look like when I’m pretending you are even slightly witty just so I can get laid later on.”Of course, at the time he didn't know that she is the female version of him. A woman who manipulates and prey's on the pain of men. Lures them only to ruin them. The author wrote this book as a form of self therapy (which he mentions plenty of times in the book) and also the book was supposed to be how you explained it. We were just these innocent girls in the night trying to make something beautiful. We nearly died. We very nearly did, didn't we?
