About this deal

Seasons 1 and 2 of The Original Series, A Limited Event Series, Fire Walk with Me and its deleted scenes: The Missing Pieces UPDATE: The series, the movie and the deleted scenes all come with the option for Brazilian Portuguese subtitles. The audio will only be available for the series. (Thanks, Igor!)

Trailers (Disc 10, HD/SD, 5 minutes): Rounding out the 10-disc set are U.S. and international theatrical trailers for Fire Walk Series Deleted Scenes (HD/SD, 8 min.) – Twelve short scenes or scene extensions that didn't make the final cut of their respective episodes. None are terribly revelatory, unfortunately, though a couple of comedy bits are pretty funny. The selection of scenes includes the four offered in the Gold Box DVD set (in SD) plus eight more (in HD) appearing for the first time here. version of the series' pilot are included, with the international version boasting an additional twenty minutes of material and a different ending

After years of hearing how good the show was, I finally watched the whole thing after the third season aired on Showtime. A word of advice: if you haven't seen it, do so as soon as humanly possible. Trailers (SD, 4 min.) – Two crappy-looking and spoilerific trailers for 'Fire Walk With Me' (one 16:9 and one 4:3) that explicitly give away the identity of Laura's killer.

Promos (HD, 1 min.) – Two ads announce (one with quite a bit of sarcasm) the scheduling move to Saturdays. Return to Twin Peaks (SD, 20 min.) – Fans and organizers talk about 'Twin Peaks' fan festivals and what they love about the show. Some dress up in cosplay, and some are kind of creepy. We follow a bunch on a tour through Snoqualmie (the Washington town where the series was filmed). find more textural finesse and slight improvements to overall clarity and object definition, but do not expect to notice any drastic improvements. In fact, refines, not redefines, the experience. It looks terrific, but so too does the Blu-ray. Slightly sharper skin details, more intimately defined clothes, crisperBecause David Lynch already approved a 4k remaster of Fire Walk With Me for the 2014 Blu-ray, Criterion licensed that master and has apparently not touched a pixel of it. The 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 encode on this disc looks frame-for-frame identical to the prior copy. For the most part, that's a good thing. The image is perhaps a little soft at times, but has pretty good detail (witness that you can tell the blue rose pinned to Lil's dress is artificial) and preservation of grain structure. Colors and contrast look very nice. Some fans will tell you that 'Twin Peaks' was the greatest TV series of all time. I have one issue with that claim: 'Twin Peaks' was not just a TV series. 'Twin Peaks' was, and still is, an experience – a insular dreamworld that exists beyond our narrow definitions of traditional narrative storytelling. Yes, the show has a plot, broken up into digestible hour-long bites originally spread out week-to-week over a network broadcast schedule. In form, it looks like something very conventional and recognizable, but looks are deceiving. At every step, 'Twin Peaks' asks us to dig beneath the surface, to chip away at the artificial veneer of comfort and familiarity to find new layers below where truth and beauty and horror and madness all reside together, often indistinguishable from one another.

outer four sides is a 360-degree view of the Douglas Firs made so famous in the mountains around Twin Peaks, covered by a dense fog along the top. New and Previously Released Deleted Scenes (Disc 4, HD/SD, 14 minutes): Twelve newly released deleted scenes are presented NEW! On the Couch with Kimmy and Harry (1080p, 6:48): Harry Goaz and Kimmy Robertson discuss their history with the area where The official, official announcement of The Television Collection was included as part of a much longer press release and announcement for the From Z to A Collection on August 15.
