About this deal

Here at Tom Hixson, all of our halal products are certified to meet strict laws and regulations regarding the rearing and slaughtering methods of the animal. To find out more about our halal meat range, watch our video here.

Turkey Meat (92%), Vegetable Oil (Sunflower, Rapeseed), Salt, Stabilisers (Carrageenan, Diphosphates, Triphosphates), Glucose Syrup, Dextrose, Spices (Pepper, Celery), Milk Protein, Hydrolysed Vegetable Protein ( Soya, Corn), Smoke Flavouring, Flavouring (Pepper), Onion Powder, Herbs (Thyme, Marjoram), Preservative (Sodium Nitrite), Antioxidants (Sodium Ascorbate, Rosemary Extract) Additional InformationIf you want to ensure your meat is halal, you must buy from a butcher with traceability of their products, as well as a halal certification which shows the butchering process adheres to strict halal standards. The cooking time will vary depending on the size of your roasting joint, so add extra time if your joint is fairly large. If your turkey is over 4 Kilograms, a good rule of thumb is to cook the joint for 20 minutes per Kilogram and add an extra 90 minutes. If you have chosen to cook one of our succulent turkey butterflies, we’d recommend cooking the joint for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes in a preheated oven at 180 degrees. Halal meat and Kosher meat are different. Halal requires a certain method of slaughter and must not contain alcohol, be fed a vegetarian diet and not be treated with growth hormones or antibiotics. For Kosher meat, the animal is required to have split hooves and chew their cud. Animals must be killed by a specially trained sochet. Is Halal Meat Grass-Fed? You should use a meat thermometer to ensure your turkey is cooked thoroughly before serving. Your halal turkey joint should be at least 72 degrees celsius in the centre before taking the joint out of the oven. Learn more about how to prepare a halal turkey dinner in one of our recent blog posts. Can You Get Halal Bacon?

Ingredients: Turkey breast (87%), water, starch, salt, sugar, dextrose, gelling agent: E407, flavouring, preservative: E250Halal meat can either be grass-fed or grain-fed depending on how the animal is reared. There are no restrictions on whether it should be grass-fed or not, but the animal should be fed a vegetarian diet and be treated well during its lifetime, as well as the animals being healthy at the time of slaughter. Is Pork Halal? Our delicious Halal Turkey Rashers is full of flavour and imported straight from Italy for the true Halalnivore. Thinly sliced in the traditional deli way, it is the perfect 'leaner' alternative to our Halal Beef Bacon with an added smokey flavour. If you are cooking a whole turkey joint, perhaps for a Sunday roast or Christmas dinner, we would suggest first brining your turkey. During the brining process, the turkey absorbs extra moisture and seasonings, which helps the meat stay juicy and flavourful. Halal meat adheres to Islamic laws which govern how it is reared and slaughtered. To be classed as halal, the meat is required to be slaughtered via a cut to the jugular vein, carotid artery and windpipe. Halal meat cannot contain alcohol and the animal must be fed a vegetarian diet and must not be treated with growth hormones or antibiotics. How is Halal Meat Slaughtered? Halal meat is slaughtered by cutting across the throat with a sharp blade. This method severs the carotid arteries, jugular vein and windpipe. The animal must be healthy and alive at the time of slaughter, and the blood is then drained from the carcass. Is Halal the Same as Kosher?
