About this deal

Step 1: Cut off the top portion of the half foam ball to make a flat surface instead of a rounded one.

It took some time but I was able to finish it in one day. I just kept doing it all day long in between all my other tasks. Make sure to do both sides. It would probably go faster if I used three different spray bottles. I also felt like the color got darker if it sat in the water bottle longer. Like maybe it oxidizing. I like the effect of having different shades of green. I was really happy with how it turned out. It’s nice when you have a vision and things go according to plan. Finally when I felt it was not too baggy but also not yet too tight, I made a half inch diagonal cut into the armpit area to allow room for a small hem. Cut the bottom length and the final cut of the arm length After the rough cut, but before the final cut of the sleeves This costume is often referenced and recognized as a significant part of Leia’s character arc in “Return of the Jedi”. It has become a symbol of her role as a strong and resilient leader within the Rebel Alliance.

Step 6: Cut holes on the top and bottom of the ball droid. For the top, measure the width around your child’s chest and cut a hole slighter larger than that measurement. For the bottom, the hole should be wide enough so your child has enough leg room to walk. This white gown is prominently featured during her appearance on the planet Tatooine, where she is held captive by Darth Vader and the Galactic Empire. This gown has since become one of the most recognizable and memorable costumes in the Star Wars saga. This is where you really have to let your perfectionist instincts go. It doesn’t matter if the seam here gets a little messed up, so long as the sleeve is entirely attached. Please trust me: no one will notice!

I mean look at how well my Tunic blends in. Those pesky Storm Troopers will never be able to find me. And if they do I know a cute Ewok who would be more than happy to help me out. Step 1: Measure your child’s waist and add a couple extra inches for seam allowance. Draw a cummerbund shape onto a piece of paper. Use it as your pattern to cut out the cummerbund from the pleather fabric. You can create the center rectangular detail with just a piece of pleather itself or by covering a piece of craft foam with the pleather fabric (which will make it sturdier). Add details with acrylic paint or fabric maker. Hot glue the rectangular detail onto the belt. Then hand-sew or hot glue velcro to the ends of the belt. Step 3: Sew the gold lining to the blue fabric at the top and sides of the cape. Leave the bottom of the cape and lining open. Step 3: Dip a newspaper strip into the mixture and remove any excess mixture by sliding your fingers from the top to the bottom of the strip. This gown with a flowing, pure white silhouette is worn by Princess Leia in “Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977) for a ceremony scene . Snowsuit (Hoth outfit)Brave. Fearless. Friend of the Ewoks. In Return of the Jedi and the Forces of Destiny animated series, Princess Leia Organa is a leader who isn’t afraid to jump into action. Her Endor commando gear is a classic costume that can be made on the cheap in one day. You’ll be able to whip up this costume faster than an Ewok on a speeder bike! We were loosing light fast with all our Saturday events going on. I was able to talk my hubby Grady from This Mormon Life to snap these pictures for me. He likes to remind me he is a collegiate photographer. But he is keeping status amateur so he can still compete in the photography Olympics. I am really excited to shoot our family pictures!!!

Step 4: For the collar, cut out 2 donut shapes. (I used a child’s circle skirt pattern as my guide.) This will give you 2 layers to the collar -- an upper and lower layer. Sew the two layers together at the outside of the circles. This gown is worn by Princess Leia Organa when she is aboard the Rebel Alliance’s medical frigate after the Battle of Hoth. The gown is predominantly white with a high collar, reflecting the medical staff’s attire on the frigate. Leia wears this gown while recovering from injuries sustained during the battle. The rebellious Leia rose from an orphaned prisoner to a courageous space general and it is a beautiful and interesting journey. The costume has since become very controversial. Many consider it as a representation of the objectification of women in popular culture. Some others consider the outfit as a symbol of Leia’s strength and defiance in the face of adversity. Princess Leia, the iconic character from Star Wars is such a strong character that many women want to be like her – and sometimes the least one can do is try to emulate her clothes. Leia’s Endor Commando outfit consists of camouflage poncho, blue pants and braids wrapped around her head and is prominently featured in “Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi.” As a key member of the Rebel Alliance’s strike team, Leia dons this attire during the mission to destroy the shield generator on the forest moon of Endor, which protects the second Death Star. Step 1: Tear the newspaper into long strips, approximately 1-inch wide. You’ll need enough strips to make 3-4 layers on the beach ball. Though I was born and raised in New York City, I've lived in SoCal for over ten years now and am proud to call this beautiful and diverse place my home. My husband and I have a son and baby daughter (whom I was 9 months pregnant with when this photo was taken!). Prior to becoming a mommy I spent several years in feature film publicity and acquisitions for Miramax and later as the Creative Executive for Hilary Swank Productions before seguing to the music industry where I did Online Communications for the GRAMMY Foundation and MusiCares. In my ample pre-parenthood free time, I also freelanced as a script analyst and screenwriter.
