Infamous for being called the king of the dinosaurs, Tyrannosaurus had a bite force of almost 6,000 kg of pressure, giving it arguably the strongest jaws ever seen amongst terrestrial carnivores with only extremely large crocodilians (i.e. Deinosuchus) and marine predators, such as the Mosasaurus and the Megalodon, have rivaled or surpassed it in sheer bite force. Large individuals could reach lengths of 43 feet and grow to 13 feet tall, with the average still being a respectably huge 40 feet long and 12 feet tall. However, new research estimates that Tyrannosaurus may have grown bigger than previously thought. Its teeth are actually blunt and relied more on the bite force than a serrated edge like other theropods. This was an adaptation to crush bones and bite through body armor, allowing adult Tyrannosaurus to both bring down armored prey such as ankylosaurids and ceratopsians, as well as process a carcass efficiently by crunching bones and tougher tissues to eat. Tyrannosaurus is an extremely powerful carnivorous dinosaur representing one of the pinnacles of the Hammond Foundation's operations in the Muertes Archipelago. A temperamental species in comparison to other dinosaurs, Tyrannosaurus do not tolerate variations from their preferred environment, which should ideally consist of a mix between open grassland to roam, and open forests, from which they can ambush their prey. A male Tyrannosaurus rex emerged while feeding on a Parasaurolophus carcass and encounters the humans. It chases them and fights a Spinosaurus, and loses the battle. Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous is a television series set during and after the events of Jurassic World. The same T. rex appears several times in the series, terrorizing teenage campers who are stranded on Isla Nublar.In Jurassic Park, the female Tyrannosaurus seen here is the largest seen in the movie series, with her length listed at 46 feet and height at 21 feet. John Hammond informs the visitors about the Tyrannosaurus soon after their arrival. When the group take a tour of the park in the Ford Explorers, they pass the T-Rex enclosure but it doesn’t make an appearance, even when they try to lure it out with a live goat. In the original Jurassic Park novel, there were two Tyrannosaurus on Isla Nublar, an adult and a juvenile version but they didn’t have kind of interaction with each other. It is said that the dinosaurs had sensitive skin so they always tried to stay within the shade. When the park’s power goes offline, the Tyrannosaurus escape from their enclosure. The adult almost killed Ian Malcolm and Tim while the juvenile killed Ed Regis. It’s also claimed that the juvenile is a great swimmer but this most likely wasn’t true in real life. Later, Dr. Grant and the children are on a raft on the river, they see the juvenile sleeping. Lex inadvertently wakes it up and it swims after them but soon gives up and goes after the adult’s kill on the shore. Muldoon later shoots it with a tranquilizer dart which causes the creature to pass out with Grant and the children hiding behind a waterfall. It’s unknown what happened to the adult Tyrannosaurus though it’s possible it drowned. When the group leaves the island via the helicopter, they take one last look at the juvenile. In January 2020, a study of the fossils of Nanotyrannus—a smaller tyrannosaur that was believed to have lived alongside T. rex—revealed that the bones were more likely from a juvenile T. rex than another species . If so, the study then suggests that Tyrannosaurus rex’s growth rate varied as it aged, and it could slow down its growth when food was scarce, a major evolutionary advantage. A DPG article suggested that ragged tooth is most common in carnivores such as the T. rex and Velociraptor. In The Lost World, the Tyrannosaurus are shown to be a very protective parents. They go to great lengths to ensure their offspring’s safety and will drive out anything that is in their territory. It’s said in the film that they don’t wonder too far away from the infant and continue to bring it food for months. This is similar to birds and crocodiles who guard their nests and protect their eggs from predators. Like most predators, The Tyrannosaurus teaches its offspring to hunt once they are capable.
