About this deal

Harman Kardon always adds an aesthetic component to its products, and the Onyx Studio 8 is no exception. With the unique design of the handle, which doubles as a stand, and the high quality fabric that covers the speaker, it looks very elegant wherever you place it.

Also, it’s worth pointing out that yes, this is a portable speaker with a battery and a built-in handle, but it’s on the heavy side, so it’s portable more in the room-to-room sense and less in the throw-it-in-a-bag or take-it-camping sense. Unlike the Onyx Studio 6, the Studio 7 isn’t waterproof and has no IP (ingress protection) rating at all, making it a poor choice for most outdoors scenarios. As expected, at maximum volume, the figure is reduced to around 4 hours. This is usual, since the brands always give the battery life figure using it at a volume around 50%. As we’ve said before, we don’t think you’ll need to use the maximum volume to enjoy your music at home. The speaker also has no lights or other power-hungry extras. The new version received a massive overhaul in terms of design. Whether this is a positive thing depends on personal preference. At normal listening volumes (70-90%), you get about 5 hours of playtime from either speaker. Not terrible, but unspectacular to say the least. The Onyx 7 is made of high-quality materials and fits seamlessly into your lifestyle and living room. Thanks to the slim aluminum handle, you can take this speaker anywhere. Onyx Studio 6 has an IPX7 rating. This means it is submergible and should be waterproof enough for any recreational use. Users with higher requirements in terms of sound quality can also enjoy a better music experience through an AUX connection. The Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 8 is a very beautiful, elegant and original wireless speaker. The weight of 3.5 kg does not make it the most comfortable model to carry, but we can easily carry it around the house. Although you can take it outdoors, where we tested it, you have to be aware that it is not waterproof. ConnectivityThe Onyx Studio 7 also boasts good bass capabilities. It sounds punchy and has a good bounce to it, without overpowering other elements in the mix. At high volume levels the digital signal processing prevents distortion without thinning out the lower frequencies.

The button placement is better on the Onyx Studio 7. Using the controls on the Onyx Studio 6 is tedious, but the Onyx 7 redesign did a good job of correcting this. In the past, many Bluetooth speakers only supported wireless connection to one mobile device, while ONYX STUDIO 7 can connect two Bluetooth devices simultaneously. Connect two Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 7 speakers together wirelessly for an even better listening experience. Manufacturer’s description The design is the standout feature here, it’s like nothing else in the market and has a unique look that’s artistic and also functional. In terms of size and weight, it measures 312 x 275.8 x 163.8 mm and weighs 3.52 kg. The Onyx Studio 8 is slightly larger and heavier than its predecessor, the Onyx Studio 7, although the difference is not noticeable to the naked eye. Because of its size and weight, it is not the most comfortable wireless speaker to carry around. If you’re looking for a speaker that you can take with you whenever you leave the house, you might want to consider something like the Onyx Studio 8. JBL Xtreme 3. Also, the Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 8 is not waterproof or dustproof, so keep it away from the beach or pool.

Thanks to the two added high-frequency converters, the Onyx 7 provides an immersive sound experience. Elegant design The Onyx Studio 8 delivers high power with energetic bass and a sound that spreads well around the room. The max volume output is roughly the same, with the slight advantage going to Onyx Studio 7. This difference will only be seen on side-by-side testing. Both speakers have total output wattage of 50 watts, if this metric matters to you. Onyx Studio 6 has a 3,250 mAh battery that is rated for 8 hours at 50% volume. This battery life doesn’t hold up to competitors like JBL Charge 5 (12+ hours on a 7,500 mAh battery), Soundcore Motion+(12 hours on a 6,700 mAh battery), or even the smaller and more portable JBL Flip 5 & 6 (12 hours on a 4,800 mAh battery).
