La historia de ron Flor de Caña se remonta a finales del siglo XIX, cuando Francisco Alfredo Pellas Canessa, un joven visionario, decidió fundar una destilería en Chichigalpa, Nicaragua. Allí, rodeado de fértiles campos de caña de azúcar, Pellas comenzó a elaborar rones únicos utilizando la mejor materia prima que la naturaleza tenía que ofrecer. Con el tiempo, la destilería se expandió y modernizó, y se convirtió en una de las más importantes de Centroamérica.
