About this deal

Everything is drawn on paper by hand, most often with colour pens. Then I scan them into the computer. Sometimes a little touch up is necessary but most of the work is done on paper. We have been talking a lot about menswear brands and clothing. Do you maybe work with any other type of brands? Mr Slowboy is a London-based Chinese artist with a difference. His distinctive illustrated characters are widely admired for their style, humour and ability to project the London aesthetic, by wearing a mix of traditional and contemporary attire and accessories. Elie looks good even when he wakes up, in his bathrobe, bought on rue de la paix in this great Maison that also makes his shirts. I worked in advertising as an Art Director and Creative Director for about 13 years. After achieving most of the desirable “goals” in the industry, I realised It wasn’t quite fun anymore and my true passion still lay in drawing.

At Bolin Webb, we are delighted to announce the imminent launch of the Mr Slowboy razor. As the beautiful design of an exciting new partner, this limited-edition razor may be our most striking model yet. The Mr Slowboy series is conceived and drawn by London-based artist Fei Wang. Slowboy. Fei has captured a distinctive style with a love for vintage aesthetics and nostalgia, topped with a playfully modern twist that feels unmistakably contemporary. They are especially proud of their bedding, as they benefited from a 30% discount on cotton percale during the Merci Days! Bolin Webb has commissioned a second Mr Slowboy limited edition R1 razor set. The new razor introduces a new Mr Slowboy character to Bolin Webb - our Gentleman on Tour to join the original Man from Mayfair. Tell us a bit about yourself and the journey that has led you to becoming an established illustrator. Our man dresses in wear topical to concourse exhibitions and car racing in Britain. He stands before the bonnet of the iconic Jaguar E-Type - a unique piece of automotive design and engineering. Timeless design recognised and admired the world over. As a Correspondent for this legendary Northwestern US daily newspaper, he has an endless sense of curiosity. Have you always been interested in fashion? I mean your illustrations caught my eye because they are very stylish, the way you create the looks is really good.

They often draw their inspiration from Merci's temporary exhibitions, which they love to walk around except on weekends and Wednesdays, the children's day. Moreover our couple goes religiously every Sunday to Merci, when they are in "Paeris, rivee dwoite".

Provides unparalleled comfort and smoothness

Mr.Slowboy is highly respected in the art and fashion worlds for his pencil illustrations having worked with global luxury fashion brands including Barbour and Fortnum & Mason. Through his creative networks and large community of social media followers, Mr.Slowboy shares his unique vintage and retro style creations with a modern touch. Inspired by The May Fair, A Radisson Collection Hotel, Mayfair London’s strong fashion heritage as the official hotel for London Fashion Week, Mr.Slowboy has created detailed illustrations that depict characters in everyday situations wearing different outfits to fit the occasion, whether a special evening dinner, or relaxing in one of the hotel’s award-winning suites. Thank you for taking the time to chat with us, Fei. For the blog readers that don’t know you, can you tell us a little about yourself and your work? There are two aspects here, I think. One would be theprestige or exclusivity of the fabric/tailor/brand and the other, more important, would be how this particular item suits me. The first “Slowboy” as a semi-fictional character was created in June 2015 to share my personal fashion tips with colleagues and friends on my blog for a hobby. It’s rather a random by-product when I was trying to insert images to demonstrate the styling of garments I wanted to discuss or comment on, because I felt it was wrong to just grab images from the internet without any authorisation. I therefore decided to draw them myself as illustrations.

Paperboyo is an English photographer who has turned what once was a hobby into a full-time profession playing with perspective, history, and architecture. His travels have taken him to some of the world’s most stunning locations including New York, Rio de Janeiro, Dubai, and the moais of Easter Island.Claudia stretches, her slightly crumpled Merci sheets made of soft cotton gauze, a subtle mixture of Batignolles Yellow, Marais Blue and Gris Fusain, testify to the nocturnal excitement… Baby N°2 doesn't sleep through the night yet. She postpones, as she does every a.m., her morning meditation session and puts on an embroidered vintage blouse she found last week at Merci. I draw some inspiration from Japanese illustrator Hozumi Kazuo, famous mens fashion illustrator renewedfor his work for Men’s Club magazine. I also like the old Vanity Fair magazine pictures and Indian miniature painting. Maren is a mix-and-match enthusiast who likes to mix the colors of her washed linen sets. She has just sent Hélène a photo of her latest assortment of colors, Anduze Green, Raku Grey, Clay Red and Light Kaolin Yellow. Judging by the "thumbs up" sent in response to her client, she apparently approved of her choice.
