A BBC Video slide advertising two other Childrens' BBC Video releases, which are William's Wish Wellingtons 1: William and Barksure and The New Adventures of Fireman Sam 2: Disaster for Dinner - both of which are also available from BBC Video. This is the second of only two Fireman Sam video releases to contain the 1981-1988 BBC Video Ident from when it was originally released in 1988 until it was re-released with the 1991-1997 BBC Video Ident in 1993. Trevor's Bus has a flat tyre and Dilys and the children have been waiting for ages at the bus stop - trying to get home after the sales. Can Sam help them both?

There are two versions of Fireman Sam 1: The Hero Next Door and both versions contain a different BBC Video Ident. Version 1 is The Original 1988 Release which contains The 1981-1988 BBC Video Diamond Ident along with a trailer for Fireman Sam 1: The Hero Next Door and Fireman Sam 2: Lost Cat would contain it from when it was originally released in 1988 until it was re-released with The 1991-1997 BBC Video Ident in 1993.It's all go at Pontypandy Fire Station with Trevor on his part time fireman course. But as Station Officer Steele sets up a drill for him, it looks as though trouble with Dilys's drains will give him some real experience.

Fireman Sam 2: Lost Cat was originally scheduled to be released in 1987 but for unknown reasons, the release was delayed to 1988. Fireman Sam is a British animated comedy children's series about a fireman named Sam, his fellow firefighters, and other residents in the fictional Welsh rural village of Pontypandy (a portmanteau of two real towns, Pontypridd and Tonypandy). The original idea for the show came from two ex-firemen from London, England, who took their idea to artist and writer Rob Lee who developed the concept, and the show was commissioned.
