About this deal

The red colour of the Pyroraptor's feathers could be a reference or is influenced by Pod the Pyroraptor from the four-part documentary series Dinosaur Planet. As far as dinosaurs go, Pyroraptor was pretty small, no bigger than a medium-sized dog. The one seen in the Jurassic World: Dominion trailer does appear to be a little bigger than that, almost as big as an adult human. The environmental effects were a big challenge for ILM, and was left to the FX department. Water covering the feathers was another challenge, so the team took reference from birds and seals exiting the water to see how water forms over them as they did so. The feather system was adjusted accordingly with these references to show the moments of meniscus water breaking and spraying. See the included instructions for what touch to use to get the dinosaur to react Discovered in Canada in 1995, not much is known about Atrociraptor as we have only found one partial skull so far. From it though, we can tell that it had a blunter and taller snout than most dromaeosaurs, leading some to speculate that it was a more powerful hunter. Pyroraptor is the first positively identified member of the dromaeosaurid (raptor) family found in Europe. This was a small, fast hunter that lived near the end of the age of dinosaurs. The specimen is known from only a few bones (which were discovered after a forest fire), but they are enough to give scientists a good idea of what this little dinosaur would have looked like. Some paleontologists believe it would have closely resembled the small, bird-like dinosaurs recently discovered in China.History [ ] Jurassic World: Dominion [ ] "Nope!" — Kayla Watts when the Pyroraptor dove through the ice and into the water ( src) Qantassaurus • Qianzhousaurus • Quaesitosaurus • Quetzalcoatlus • Quetzorion • Quilmesaurus —— Rajakylosaurus • Rajasaurus • Rajastega • Rapator • Rapetosaurus • Raphus Death Dodo • Rauisuchus • Rebbachisaurus • Regaliceratops • Repenomamus • Rhabdodon • Rhamphorhynchus • Rhinesuchus • Rhinoprotodon • Rhizodus • Rhoetosaurus • Rhomaleosaurus • Rhombodus • Rinchenia • Rinchicyon • Riojasaurus • Robertosaurus • Rugops • Rutiodon

Sean is Geek Ireland's resident dinosaur enthusiast, having been fascinated by prehistory since a time before he could read, speak or stand in an upright position (he still struggles to do at least one of these things on a daily basis).

The origin of the dromaeosaurs has long been debated. A number of prominent scientists believe they originated in North America, possibly the area that was adjacent to Europe in the very Early Cretaceous.
