Well I got the s video cable and let me tell you it looks alot better than the av and specially the component cable. I am well aware that the best solution to obtain a clear picture is to get a simple CRT television coupled with a decent component cable. With that being said, there is no way I would put a huge cube in my office, on top of my other devices. I had to find alternatives. Devices like the OSSC will accept RGsB from a PS2, simply by switching the input after 480p mode is selected (or set the OSSC to auto scan the inputs). That’s it, nothing crazy, just toggle inputs based on 480i or 480p. There are a few ways to use RGsB and there’s a chance you already have equipment that supports it!: As I was tired of tinkering with PCSX2, getting random bugs here and there, and changing settings from game to game, to relive my best memories, I decided to get a real PS2.

At first I thought the component cable may be faulty but it dose let me choose the 480p option on outrun coast to coast also my tv recognises the component cable. In an RBG feed the luminance is sent 3 times (once with each R, G, B colour), in the component lead it is only sent the once therefore saving bandwisth for other information (such as higher resolutions or sending the whole image at once...i.e. progressive scan). With the s video everything looks sharper and alot clearer over the av cable. Game mode looks better with this s video cable aswell. Get the best analog video & audio out of your PS2 or PS3 using this high-quality fully shielded cable I can switch between av and s video at the touch of a button and I can clearly see a different. I thought av looked good and didnt exspect to get a better picture but now av looks crap compared to s video.

Progressive scan is available both with games and DVDs. DVDs in prog. scan mode look great, but games are not as good. The text in games is not sharp and there some other defects during game play.I was told via a forum that my modchip fitting had disabled the Component (hence my post above) - I'm not too sure now though because my leads were also cheapy, 3rd party ones from Whitedog?
