About this deal

ICYMI, the main focus of the Mediterranean diet is to fill your plate at every meal with good-for-you fresh foods including beans, fish, legumes, nuts, poultry, seeds, vegetables, and whole grains while ditching unhealthy options like products with added sugar, processed meats, and refined grains. Other staples it emphasizes include healthy fats, such as extra-virgin olive oil and walnuts, says New York City-based nutritionist Samantha Cassetty, RD. The famed Mediterranean diet is more than just a regional cuisine, it’s food at its best: the variety of bright flavors and tastes, the health benefits, and the simple, uncomplicated dishes. America’s Test Kitchen makes it easy to eat healthy, with over 500 kitchen-tested recipes from across the Mediterranean. An oldie but a goodie," this cookbook by Food Network phenom Giada de Laurentiis is a bookshelf must-have. Savage loves that it balances taste and health while still using a "crave-able mix of ingredients."

The Complete Mediterranean Cookbook

Not only does the MedDiet consist of some pretty tasty foods, but it also boasts a number of health benefits that make it well worth adding it into your lifestyle. For the sixth year in a row, the MedDiet has been ranked as the number one diet by the U.S. News & World Report, and Gupta couldn’t recommend it enough. Look at the ingredients: If most of the recipes seem to contain that one flavor you just can’t stand, or an ingredient that is expensive or inaccessible, the cookbook won’t be a good fit for you. Think about what’s available at your local grocery store and your food budget. Nutrition First: Not only does every recipe have nutritional guidelines, but we also set specific nutritional goals (e.g. every fish recipe is less than 750 calories, with fewer than 8.5g of saturated fat)Also great for vegans and vegetarians, this cookbook delivers "a wide variety of Italian dishes using nutrient-rich, plant foods such as whole grains, vegetables, fruits, legumes, and nuts," says Wolfram. This book "focuses on lean proteins and lots of spice for flavor, and less sodium," says Laura Iu, RD, a nutritionist in New York City.

I have most of the American Test Kitchen cookbooks, I really like this one. I'm a vegetarian, this has more recipes suitable for me than all the others put together, and they look really healthy, delicious and easy to make. Quite a few of the recipes use ingredients I have in my pantry. I love the pictures of vegetables and how to cut them, some I've never used and had been thinking of trying. So many nice recipes i shall be trying, can't wait to get started. So much useful information, I'm really glad I bought this book. The recipes with meat and seafood, look good too, I especially cannot wait to make the bundt cake using olive oil, which is much healthier than butter. Need a house-warming gift?
