About this deal

The main design feature of the ProBreeze 1500ml Mini Dehumidifier is its size. This dehumidifier measures just H30 x W22 x D16cm which makes it one of the smallest dehumidifiers on the market, and definitely the smallest I've tested.

Type: Compressor Dehumidifier | Extraction amount: 12L | Tank capacity: 2.5L | Dimensions: H47.2x W23.7 x D31.9cm | Weight: 10.9kg | Power: 151W | Cost per hour: 5p | Noise level: 38dB | Max room size: 50m² | Laundry mode: Yes | Warranty: 5 years What we like If you have a large home with a damp problem, you might be tempted to forgo larger, expensive dehumidifiers in favour of several small, cheaper ones in each room. The problem is that it can be more costly than buying the larger model and much less cost-effective. That’s why we recommend the 25L ElectriQ Smart Dehumidifier as the best dehumidifier for houses with up to six bedrooms. If you need something even smaller, then ProBreeze also offer the ProBreeze 500ml Mini Dehumidifier. This has a 500ml water tank and a smaller 250ml extraction rate per day. The Silentnight 600ml Dehumidifier is another compact option, but that doesn’t enjoy the same large water tank as the ProBreeze 1500ml Mini dehumidifier which means you'll be emptying it far more often. And, whilst this Russell Hobbs number is cheaper upfront, running costs are higher, with the 20L dehumidifier using 440W of energy compared to Meaco's 20L Arete One which uses 216W on average. Plus, the Arete One offers a built-in air purifier which this model does not.

Pro Breeze 1500ml Mini Dehumidifier review - Ideal Home

That said, if you find the Pro Breeze 12L Low Energy Dehumidifier on offer, and are willing to accept its flaws in exchange for its lower price point, this can be a great value buy that does the job and will make a big improvement to general damp issues. As Chris Michael, Managing Director of the air quality brand Meaco says, inside the home, 'excess moisture in the air can come from drying clothes in the house, boiling vegetables, putting the kettle on, bathing, showering, open flame gas style heating, damp clothing, breathing, and the damp British weather.' Air filter: Some models come with a HEPA filter which helps to provide cleaner air in your home, which will be helpful for any allergy sufferers. It’s even light when it’s full of water, so if you need to move the unit before emptying it then this is easier done that with most units. We have a dehumidifier and use it when the heat is on occasionally to make sure the rooms are dry. We live in an old house, and I am surprised and what it removes. We open wardrobes in bedrooms and use it every so often. Haven't used it yet, but ours was an Argos own brand, and it is excellent. We have had it for years."(Brand recommended by Mumsnet user billy1966)

About Pro Breeze

Portability: A model with a handle or wheels/castors (or both) will be easier to move around, especially if you buy a large, heavy dehumidifier. If you’re only ever going to use the dehumidifier in one room and won’t want to put it away much, this might not be so important to you. So, if you’re after the smallest dehumidifier on the market, we think the Russell Hobbs RHDH1061G wins the accolade of best small dehumidifier, with good all round performance for its size housed in one of the smallest builds on the market – along as you don't expect too much from that 0.3L extraction rate. Noise: A dehumidifier's noise levels can fall between 34dB to 60dB - 34dB being a whisper and 60dB being the same as a normal conversation. If you choose to run your dehumidifier at a lower fan speed, it will make less noise but may be less effective. Think about where you are using it and whether it will disturb you.

Most mini dehumidifiers use either 23 watts or 40 watts. As the Pro Breeze 1500ml is quite powerful it uses 40w. We would still consider this quite efficient as it can extract almost double the water as some 23w dehumidifiers. This dehumidifier uses roughly 0.74p of energy per hour, if you left it on for 8 hours overnight it would cost you just under 6p! We would consider this good value for a dehumidifier of this size and damp removing capability. ComparisonThe MeacoDry Arete One dehumidifiers are some of the best dehumidifiers we've tested. They're quiet, easy to use, work superbly and are very energy-efficient compared to other compressor models. Plus, all offer a built-in air purification function to improve air quality within the home in more ways than one.
