An alternative to Air Link is the third-party app Virtual Desktop, which allows you to bring your computer’s display into VR and interact with it from within your headset. However, it also has similar functionality to Air Link, allowing you to stream PC VR content wirelessly to your Quest.
It’s possible to play Steam games on the Meta Quest 3 through cloud gaming services, which essentially “stream” the content to your headset from their powerful servers. However, it’s far from perfect, and you’ll need faster internet speeds (50+ Mbps) and 5 GHz WiFi 6 connect.
Make sure to enable developer mode on your Quest 3! This must be done through your Meta Quest mobile app. Rename the OculusDask.exe in this folder to OculusDash.exe.bak, then open up the OculusKiller folder, find ItsKaitlyn03’s replacement OculusDash.exe file and move it into the same folder as the now renamed original. Make sure your Quest is turned on and connected to your computer with your USB cable. From there, open the PC Oculus app and press ‘Add a New Headset’ and select either the original Oculus Quest or Quest 2. The app will then run you through an easy first-time setup process. We’ve outlined what you need and included instructions for setup of all three methods below, focusing primarily on Oculus Link. Virtual Desktop Setup Air Link allows you to play SteamVR games on your Quest 3 through WiFi, as long as you have a powerful (5Ghz) router that’s in close proximity to your headset (ideally in the same room).
