About this deal

Galatea is a short story by Miller that dives into the myth of Pygmalion and Galatea from the perspective of Galatea, the former statue brought to life. I was very excited about this new book, which is labeled as a short story, but packaged as a freestanding little hardback.

Her second novel, Circe, was an instant number 1 New York Times bestseller, and won the Indies Choice Best Adult Fiction of the Year Award and the Indies Choice Best Audiobook of the Year Award, as well as being shortlisted for the 2019 Women's Prize for Fiction. Galatea avenged herself and her daughter on that monstrous human filth, Pygmalion, like a godsdamned BADASS.Thanks to an earlier British release date, we have some hints as to how this ploy might go over once “Galatea” is widely available for purchase.

This beautifully written commentary on “male fantasy” and male anger directed at independent women brings this myth down to earth. I really wish this story had been longer as I think it would have made an excellent book, as a short story I just didn’t feel like it had enough in it to really get me absorbed into the book like I have been with Miller’s full length books. However, relationships with people are oh so much more complicated than a relationship with an inanimate object.Lau's] gift for writing accumulative insanities creates the same dizzying effect as a good cleaning. of our deliveries are made by Royal Mail as we think they give the best service and cover all areas of the UK.
