The a7R II could surprise us though as it has a different sensor. both of these cameras are top of the line models... there is not going to be a 5 second write time, its just fractions of a second as they can both shoot multiple frames a second. it really depends on if you want 42 mp or less noise. personally id go for the a7s for strictly astro work since most ap cameras are actually less than 12 mp and almost none of the imsturements you will ever use will be able to resolve space with 42 mp.
