but in my case, i've NEVER been using the battery because it's been dead for ages now, also already disconnected from the laptop and kept in a box somewhere ... so, that means i'm using the PSU all the time anyway! For CD-ROM BIOS updates in Windows 7 models: (1) Boot from the BIOS CD-ROM. (2) Type BIOS at the prompt then press Enter. The problem is NOT that the BIOS can't save the settings, since even after the battery was removed for some time. The settings I put in were still in the BIOS if I got to it by tapping F2!
