The case has a thin polished bezel which puts all the focus on the dial. This is a common design feature of elegant watches where the case simply complements the dial. Unsurprisingly, the case has a polished finish on both the top and the sides. This allows for a classy and clean look.
In this modern age, you're not a "victim" of additional consumption, just of your own principle. 30 years ago, folk would fix a TV that went out. Today, we just replace TVs due to cost/time benefit. The watch is relatively cheap and disposable. This is very different that sports watches that have big bulky lugs which will really look more rugged on a men’s wrist.I was frustrated reading into the position someone took about planned obsolescence, but I guess it’s reality. The dial of the Orient symphony is beautiful and extremely classy. In addition, it is also beautifully finished with great attention to detail that gives the impression that this watch is much more expensive than it actually is. It is simple and minimalistic, but at the same time, the dial is beautifully finished, ensuring that you will never get bored of it. This is an exceptionally well-balanced timepiece, and this obviously goes very well together with its name, Symphony. the pics don't do it justice. very nice, simple looking watch. i guess you could call is classic looking. if that's what you're looking for, don't hesitate!!
On top of the case, the watch has a flat mineral crystal. Since this is, after all, an affordable watch, it’s no surprise that it is not a sapphire crystal, although this would have been nice. This is also one of the key distinguishing differences between the Bambino and the Symphony, where the Bambino has a domed crystal that gives it a unique and distinct appearance. Also, the flat crystal contributes to its slim profile. update- i ended up selling it because the case size was too large of a dress/casual watch. Otherwise everything about it was amazing!! This is the third Orient watch review I’ve done, and like the other two, the Symphony feels well built. The rotor precisely winds the movement, the hands are properly aligned, and the movement feels taught and firm when operated.

Overall, the movement is a robust and has been used in many Orient’s for many years without much issues, though I kinda feel Orient should upgrade all of their watches with their newer movement. The terms and conditions stated make sense and are acceptable, particularly in relation to timing delays, responsibilities with cost, tax and insurances and other latent logistical costs. Not knowing where to go, I turned to a local trusted watchmaker and was advised that the mainplate had been unusually worn or elongated, hence the reason the stem wouldn't engage into movement. For now, I have just assumed this was user error. Besides, the watch would be well out of warranty. It has minimal signatures on it, with only the Orient logo, “Automatic” and “Water Resist” signatures on it. They are done in stylishly small italic font, which further give the watch a classical look.

The markers are stainless steel index markers. But what is interesting is the markers are beveled instead of flat, which gives a very nice dimensional look due to it reflecting lights from different angle. The average turnaround time for repairs is 6-8 weeks, but it would likely be much longer at this time due to our service station being closed as a result of COVID-19, plus the transit time each way. The case is pretty standard for the price range. It feels as well built as the other Orient’s I’ve reviewed, and because of this, I suspect it will keep looking good for quite some time. If it does start to show its age, you can polish it easily enough.There is also a date window at the right for some functionality which is very beneficial, especially for those wanting to use this watch to work.
