About this deal

We've teamed up with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) to give you some tips on preparing for a great trip, whether you’re driving or travelling abroad. By the way, these deflectors/converters are also said to be suitable for use on left-hand drive cars for use in Britain… The original and still the best! Have fun while driving through Europe, but also make sure you are safe and legal. Left Hand Drive, driving in the UK They can also be used if you are driving a left hand drive vehicle while driving in the UK. Where do you put a Headlamp Converter? You can call 112 anywhere in the European Union in case of an accident, assault or any other distress situation. Drinking and driving

If you becomeseriously ill or injured abroad, you will need full travel insurance to cover any medical bills, otherwise you could be left with a hefty bill after you get better – most countries will even charge you if an ambulance is called out. Martin Lewis: What the Autumn Statement means for you – including wages, benefits, pensions, ISAs, national insurance and more Autumn Statement: State pension confirmed to rise by 8.5% from April 2024 – while some benefits will go up by 6.7%

NatWest, RBS and Ulster Bank to close at least 172 branches in 2023/24 – here's the full list, plus alternatives

Headlamp converters attach to your headlamps to prevent your light dazzling oncoming traffic when you are in countries that drive on the right. In nearly all European countries it is illegal to use car navigation systems which actively search for mobile speed cameras or interfere with police equipment (laser on radar detection). Car navigation systems which give a warning of fixed speed camera locations are legal in most countries with the exception of France, Germany and Switzerland where this function must be deactivated. I was especially interested in the mention in the instructions for these converters that, due to the design of the deflector, exact positioning of the converter on the headlamp is not critical (although of course the instructions should still be followed), so there is a little welcome flexibility in this regard. If you’re travelling to more than one country, you may need more than one IDP. The 1968 licence covers most European countries, but to drive in Andorra, for instance, you’ll need the 1949. And remember: you’ll need the correct licence not just when driving your own car but when you’re hiring one, too. In some countries like Cyprus, you don’t need an IDP for visits of up to 30 days, but over 30 days you’ll need an IDP. In some EU countries there are restrictions on dash cam usage and you may receive a hefty fine if you get caught using one.Once you have the correct licences, in theory it should be business as usual when driving in the EU; in reality, it could be somewhat different. Expect local authorities to now enforce driving laws to the letter; laws that were always there, but which many of us have probably taken for granted. Plus there are some new aspects you need to be aware of as well. Documents and other preparation
