The upper is produced in engineered mesh, which consists of several layers but feels thin and breathable. The breathability is also supported by transverse ventilation holes in the fabric around the forefoot where your feet usually get very warm during runs. For GT 2000 loyalists, the 9 may be another welcomed and enjoyed edition to a storied trainer. For me, it missed the mark in important areas for it to become my daily trainer. In the midsole FLYTEFOAM® Propel replaces standard FLYTEFOAM®, providing better cushion. After over 80 miles in the shoe I do not yet notice a dip under the ball of my foot when I remove the liner and feel the base. A significant dip is a sign that the shoe is “worn out,” so this speaks well to the life of this shoe.

If you have narrow - or normal size feet, then Asics GT-2000 9 will fit you perfectly. But if you have slightly wide feet, then I will recommend that you choose a WIDE-model. They are usually 0,5 cm wider and may provide extra space and elasticity.But how does a running shoe that has been around for three decades stay up-to-date and remain a popular choice among many runners?

The GT 2000 9 will allow your feet to breathe in comfort! The softer mesh upper provides for plenty of ventilation, especially in the heat of the day during those longer runs. The shoes over the long run actually surprised me by how comfortable the midsole was. My feet did not hurt at all mid run or in the hours after. This was a positive surprise and not what I was expecting! Thankfully FLYTEFOAM® Propel (as with FLYTEFOAM® Blast) has a better feel than the original FLYTEFOAM® as the first version did not impress. Asics GT-2000 9 is produced according to different technologies to ensure stability by fixing the movement of your feet during running. The stability is controlled by two main elements, the Dynamic DuoMax and Trusstic system.

Asics GT 2000 9 First Impressions

The biggest change comes in torsion resistance. When I twist the shoe there is more resistance from the older midfoot. This will especially come into play the heavier the runner and the higher pressure applied to the shoe with overpronation. The last thing a runner wants is for the shoe to feel like it is weighing them down, and the GT 2000 9 not only refrains from such a feeling but rather provides a bit of an extra bounce in the step! The ASICS GT 2000 9 offers long-lasting durability Sometimes things just line up right and the Asics 2000 GTX has become my go to shoe for the trail this winter. The 10 conforms more to my foot than I believe the old mesh design would, and this is necessary (for my foot) given the snugged-up forefoot fit in the new model. The pressure relaxed just enough to keep me wearing the shoe post run by about 50 miles in. These materials have been reinforced in targeted areas for added support as the foot rolls through the gait cycle, delivering a more efficient toe-off and secure fit.

Weight: 236 g. in size 39,5 - Both the Men´s and Women´s model is slightly lighter compared to Asics GT-2000 8 Even though Asics GT-2000 9 has a fairly tight fit, extra holes have been designed for the laces which is ideal if you have a more narrow ankle and need to tighten the shoe further.

Nevertheless, this knit is not too giving so as to make the hold less secure, like I found in the upper change from the Fresh Foam Vongo to the Vongo v2. Like Asics GT-2000 8, the 9th version of GT-2000 also have used Asics’ well-known Flytefoam foam in the midsole which provides a lighter bouncy comfort, a more plesant landing and great return energy for your take-off. Even though Asics GT-2000 9 has a fairly tight fit, extra holes for laces have been provided in case you have a narrow ankle and need to tighten the laces further.
