These files specify mapping on a per-device type basis. The goal is to fill most of the gap with Zigbee2MQTT (provided that you write the device plugin files). The lightweight nature of plugins permits to load only the plugins required by the devices used, and does not require a software update for new devices. How does it work? ~ I bought 6 of these and was running them off NiMH batteries. The valves would show the battery warning sign within a few days, and stop working after 2 weeks or so. It turns out they don't work with NiMH which only outputs 1.3 volts or so. I've replaced my batteries with Li-ion rechargeable batteries and they've been working solidly for a month now with no battery issues reported.

Any other wiser users have thoughts? I think we can do everything without the app after the initial pairing and config? While all *.zb files are automatically loaded at startup, you can manually unload a file with ZbUnload

Some attributes are writable, but this corresponds to a change of configuration of the device. You generally can't change the status of a device writing to attributes, you need to use commands instead. Use the command ZbConfig to dump the current configuration. For example it might return {"ZbConfig":{"Channel":11,"PanID":"0x1A63","ExtPanID":"0xCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC","KeyL":"0x0F0D0B0907050301","KeyH":"0x0D0C0A0806040200"}}Today I got my Danfoss Ally thermostats. My plan was to set them up with the Ally Gateway, so they would be updated. After I got them all updated and tried to pair them with ZHA it would only show the temperature and not let me set the temp etc. I tried all of them thermostats and repairing a gazillion times. Then I took the power to the Ally gateway and tries and now it worked. All paired and are fully controllable by ZHA. I may consider getting an entire solution from one supplier, but not sure how good they are?? For example: In the past, we have used a basic manual-controlled TRV on the loft radiator, which runs from our gas-fired central heating system with the TR set to turn off once the temperature reaches a set point.

Due to 100s of reasons, I’m late to my DIY Smart Heating V4 party. I can blame the pandemic, supply shortages and whatnot, but the truth is, I was simply delaying it myself. I realised the scope of what I’m going to be working on and delayed the inevitable. I received two out of eleven Moes ZigBee TRVs ( AliExpress, Banggood) so far (others are in the post). It’s not enough to start upgrading my heating system, but it’s plenty to take it for a test drive. It can also be used to fix a value and keep the same attribute.
