About this deal

I have a whole review dedicated to the Dorco Pace 6. I absolutely adore the thing, a smartly design 6 bladed razor, that was for a time my personal favorite. I have used the Pace 6 many times in the past, so am intimately familiar with the quality and feel of the shave. What I have not done in the past is used it with a brand related shaving cream. Personally I use the cheapest shaving cream I can get. I spray it into a mug of hot water and left it become luxurious. I honestly didn’t think it mattered. I am happy to say that I was quite wrong in that regard. Foams are good, creams are better. Squire wrote:Hi Frankie, welcome aboard, what other blades have you tried in your Furtur? I'm curious because I'm using one myself. I mostly use it as a post-shave cleansing and toner product: I’ll soak a cotton round with it and wipe down my face to get rid of any shaving lather residue that still may be on my face, helping to avoid ingrown hairs and toning my face, too. Then I’ll rinse with cool water and apply a balm/moisturizer.

Now this was something I was excited to try out. The Dorco Prime is as old school as it gets, a classic double sided blade design straight out of Dorco’s 1950 days. Just look at the thing, it is gorgeous. In the box is 30 replacement blades, the handle and a handy compact, that can store your handle and has a nice mirror. Real thought went into the contents of this starter set, an eye towards not only value but portability as well. So let’s look at the handle first. Why not add glitter to our Shaving Foam Mixing Color Sensory Bag ? It’ll add some sparkle and another fun element to their new fidget toy!I was going to stop using the Tiger blades, but felt that I should use the second blade at least one more time to see if its performance mirrored that of the first blade.

Tonight’s shave was hands down the best shave I have had with either of the two blades being evaluated. Outside of this comparison, I have found Gillette Platinum and Bic Chrome Platinums to be my best and most comfortable blades. Tonight’s shave with the Tiger was right there with my best. I found that this blade, like feathers, smooths our a lot after the first shave and made the second shave so comfortable. Efficiency has been good, I have spent what I feel like is almost no time touching up or buffing outside of doing my standard two passes.

This is a photo of the blade at a magnification of 450. Not a very good shot I'm afraid, haven't got the light modeling right yet, it's a work in progress.
