I've read some of the books myself and to be brutally honest, the early books aren't massively well written, tending to be a collection of short sentences rather than being punctuated properly, but the writing improves as the series progress and more importantly the stories are fun and action packed, even if they do tend to borrow rather heavily from other sources but even that in itself isn't terrible as it introduces some of the more common mythical elements such as the Minotaur and Pegasus.
