About this deal

Not sure I was fully on board with the plot, a mum version of The Hangover, where the hen do does not ho to plan and they have to fix what happened the morning after the night before.

Winner of a Funny Women award in 2020, she now shares her no-holds-barred take on life with a legion of fans online, on stage and on screen. Faced with secrets, lies, and betrayal – does it pay to be a good egg, or do bad chicks reign supreme?

All in all I would recommend as a fun summer beach read, if you want a book packed with surprises and laugh out loud one liners! Before turning to writing, Sophie worked in PR and considers promoting the world’s biggest fish finger as her career highlight.

Overall I enjoyed this however as we got to the twist at the end of the book I did find myself struggling to get fully on board. Can’t decide if it makes me want a girls holiday or makes me want to hunker down in the safety of my home! From Cara with her nervous colon to Jac with her inside knowledge on HTGAWM add in Queen of the Unfiltered Mouth, Amy (It me! For Cara, it's a chance to forget about her messy divorce and explosive feud with a stardom-seeking sister and Pina-Colada pickled mother.Cara has separated from her husband, and is persuaded to go on a hen do to Ibiza, what could possibly go wrong? This is a book that pumps along at full velocity (much like the party beat on the island) and it sometimes feels relentless, with its often acute observations and lewd descriptions (get this one: Jac, now the colour of an angry penis about to go off…. The occasional snigger, then snorts to outright guffaw, I've not laughed this much at a book in ages. she is excited for a hen do to Ibiza when her best friend Jac gets engaged, but disappointed that the hen do won’t be for another 2 years.

Er, this isn’t what they bargained for and they to not intend to spend their short time on the island tramping about in nature and contemplating their navels, so they decamp to a very upmarket establishment, where Cara is confronted by the last people on earth she would expect to meet. Thought the plot was too slow to start (action actually starts at chapter 20) and the writing style was too lenghty and descriptive. I loved the characters in the book and lots of it really gave me the same vibe as the movie 'Bridesmaids'. It was also just so relatable, which I think is what made it so funny, because you can relate to the characters and what they’re going through. For all ebook purchases, you will be prompted to create an account or login with your existing HarperCollins username and password.Cara Carmichael’s bestie is finally getting hitched, and she’s over the moon because it means one thing… Whoah, they’re going to Ibiza!
