About this deal

The game in its current form was designed by Michael Michaels and published in 1988 by the German company Rosengarten Spiele. When I communicated with the seller, they didn't give me much context as to why it was different than advertised and said they'd look into it. This article includes a list of general references, but it lacks sufficient corresponding inline citations. Each player tries to roll the correct numbers with his coloured dice so that they can be placed on the board. Add a second different colour box and up to eight can play, add the third and now twelve players can compete!

By accepting these services, we are able to show you videos or other media content hosted by external providers. A single Ligretto game is for 2 to 4 people, you can of course combine with other Ligrettos to cater for more people, but more on that bonkersness later.

Players deal their ligretto stack of 10 cards face up onto the table and then between 3-5 cards (depending on player count) face up into their row. Please ensure that you keep a copy of your proof of postage, as we can't be held responsible for goods that have either been damaged or lost in transit. Play is fast and lively, and demands attention to the cards being played by others as well as one's own cards. It is not possible for us to draw any conclusions about you, and any data collected as a result will never be passed on to third parties.Simultaneously all players try to discard as many cards of the same colour as possible from 1 to 10. The game finishes after an agreed number of rounds or when the first player reaches and agreed score.

Not a game for those who are precious about their games, Ligretto is a fast paced card shedding game where the cards will end up flying everywhere and at the very least suffer the odd crease as you’re bound to clash hands with opponents at some point. Add a second different colour box and up to eight can play, add the third and now twelve players can compete. The aim of the game is to get rid of all your cards faster than all the other players by discarding them in the middle of the table. Good Time Holding bought the rights for the game in 1999, and since 2000 has been published by the subsidiary Schmidt Spiele.

Players create shared piles of cards from 1-10 in the centre of the table in any of the four coloured suits. If no player can play another card, all participants reshuffle their hand, and a player proclaims "Ligretto! There will be multiple piles of cards in the centre of the table and you can play to any so long as you match the colour and the value of the card you play is 1 more than the one you choose to play onto.

So while it’s definitely a benefit to have finished your Ligretto pile it does not guarantee victory as there are plenty of points to be earnt by playing from your draw pile. Each deck is recognised by its own distinctive symbol on the reverse side; pyramids, cubes, crystals and spheres.

However, due to limited options of cards in the stack, row or hand this can make gameplay more sedate. This is what makes the game so much fun as the game changes so quickly and it is almost impossible to keep up. It just sits on the game screen and doesn’t deal any cards and the app must be closed and restarted from the beginning.
