About this deal

The first thing that caught my attention in this manga was Fujimomo's drawing style, I definitely love it. And the story, in addition to the romance, has some very funny overtones that made me laugh out loud throughout the volume. Both Eriko and Ohmi seem very interesting characters to me and I'm looking forward to seeing how they evolve, as characters and as a couple. In addition, two secondary characters have appeared that will give a lot to talk about. Well, this was a new one for me. My first time reading a shojo manga without having seen it in anime form (I don't believe this one has an anime adaptation). This is certainly not what I usually read, but given that growing-up I would try to watch any anime I came across which would include shojo (I was a part of that original Toonami generation that got exposed to Sailor Moon along side Dragon Ball Z. I was not as attracted to the shojo feminine stuff as I was the shonen masculine stuff, but I was always appreciative of a good story. Also, I was immediately a fan of the works of Makoto Shinkai which is technically shojo (the way Hayao Miyazaki is technically shonen). I'll watch shojo anime if it is real funny or funny and cleaver (I'm thinking of Ouran High School Host Club, Vol. 1 or Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, Vol. 1). Or by Makoto Shinkai. Now-a-days, I prefer my manga and anime seinien more than anything (you non-anime manga people are just going to be lost for this review), but I brought this manga randomly on sale from Comixology so lets read! What to say about the drawings, except that they were beautiful? I must say that the drawing style is what catch my attention before I chose to read a manga, and this one totally lived up to my expectations! So I would definitely recommand this shojo to every shojo lover out there. It is funny, it will make your heart beat very fast, and your cheeks will hurt so badly after having smiled when reading the entire shojo. Ellie is a plain girl who is invisible to everyone else around her. She is very imaginative and spends her day tweeting fantasies about the school'sprinceOmi-kun. Omi-kun acts like a prince but that's just a facade. He's actually a tsundere who in actuality is nothing like the prince he pretends to be. All the supporting characters are all likeabe and have a quirky side to them. No character isordinaryin this story. Eriko is so used to being invisible that she doesn't know how to act when Ohmi-kun starts paying attention to her (and it doesn't help that's he's fairly emotionally stunted himself, haha). She's SO WEIRD and I love it. She makes a friend in this volume and the reason the girl reaches out to her sounds EXACTLY like something I'd have done in high school.

Lovesick Ellie - Penguin Random House

Ellie and Ohmi reignite their love and commitment. It’s a done deal—and they’re doing the deed! Ellie’s tweets reach a fervor, feeding her fans who are voracious for every juicy detail. Lovey-dovey feelings are infectious, and romance is everywhere. Ellie’s once delusional dream is now reality. The story comes to the ultimate climax! As I read further and further it got so good I felt literally like on a rollercoaster. It has been pretty long since I jumped, cheered and really got excited over some manga, I probably looked like a puppy seeing his owner come home. And yeah I just really love these kind of romances where there is teasing, unsure emotions. One person is just really shy, but cheerful person to be around, the other one bit grumpy, a popular kid, with some kindness and good under the outer coat. Besides the fun chemistry and fast pace, I also really enjoyed how reading this made me feel. If you like manga's that make you squeal out loud, this is the one for you! Both of them have much character development throughout the manga and they learn to accept themselves for who they are and learn to open up to people without the fear of being judged. First, they think that no one understands their struggle, but then they learn, that that’s not the case. They give each other confidence as the Romance Manga progresses and help each other grow. A drama CD was released alongside the eleventh volume. It featured acting from AriOzawa, Nobuhiko Okamoto, Saori Ōnishi, Kazuyuki Okitsu, and Yusuke Shirai. [33] Another drama CD was made to coincide with the release of the final volume. It featured the same cast as the previous drama CD. [34] Reception [ edit ] Edit 4/26/22: Ohmi even broke my heart a little. Glad it got cleared up and I’m curious about this other boy. I wonder if he’s the account that harassed her?

Sind natürlich nicht alle gleich. Aber das ist schon sehr vielen ähnlich, die ich in jüngeren Jahren in der Art schon gelesen habe. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review. Everyone should be able to express themselves – be it in real life or via the internet if they don’t have the courage to go all out in their social circle. Omi – although on a completely different level – has kind of the same issue as her. He thinks he has to be a perfect boy, who smiles a lot and doesn’t really say what’s on his mind. Ichimura Eriko is an unpopular girl who loves to fantasize about things – mostly about one boy. His name is Akira Ohmi and due to his polite and kind personality, he is extremely popular at the school they both go to. With her alter ego she repeatedly tweets about him and their non-existent relationship. as she gets to know smooth-spoken, handsome Akira Ohmi’s true bratty nature. What’s more, after a rather intimate moment at the library, Ohmi tells her, “Let’s continue… after you pass your exam.”Eriko is a girl who constantly puts herself down with thoughts like „someone like me“, „I’m invisible“, etc., etc. and tells herself she can’t fit in with the „normal“ girls in her school. With her Alter Ego Ellie she has found an outlet for all her jumbled thoughts and her suppressed personality, which I find really nice. Both of them end up being comfortable around each other, but also embarrassed about their feelings as well. They're very easy to love and I like that Ellie managed to come out of her shell bit by bit, even befriending a new person all on her own. Compared to Ellie, I think that Omi didn't have much growth in this one—other than showing his true self to Ellie—but I believe that's being saved for future volumes of this manga. A digital ARC of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley for review. All opinions are unbiased and my own.
