About this deal

The biggest advantage that comes with the Kraken X53 isn’t improved, temps. Instead, this is a great cooler if you want less fan noise. The Aer P2 fans that come with the X53 are very quiet, even maxed out, and the pump itself makes much less noise at 100% output than the Wrath Prism and similar air coolers. The PC I installed the X53 in is situated in my living room, and I use it to game on my TV. I like to leave my computer on, and I noticed much less overall fan noise when I was watching a movie or TV show. HUE 2 Channel Output LED Qty. Up to four LED strips - 10 LEDs per strip, Up to five Aer RGB fans, Up to six HUE 2 accessories I installed the AIO into my venerable Corsair Vengeance C70 case which features the following cooling setup: If you notice any distortions in these colors, this can indicate that a particular channel is failing on the Kraken and would require the cooler to be replaced. For example, a failing Blue channel will cause White to appear as Yellow while a failing Green channel will cause White to appear as Magenta. I've confirmed my Kraken is either failing or defective, what do I do next? For Kraken X53, X63, and X73 coolers or the Kraken Z series, please connect a Micro USB (Micro-B) to USB Type-A cable from the USB port on the Kraken to any open USB Type-A port on your PC.

Most PCs running Windows 10 or 11 will likely be the 64-bit version of Windows. If you are unsure as to the version installed on your PC, you can press Windows+R to bring up the Runwindow and run msinfo32. This will be listed as the System Type.

NZXT Kraken X53 Cooler Review | Bottom Line

The X-3 series refresh also marks a significant improvement with the RGB logo design. The infinite mirror logo on the X-2 series required you to mount the pump on your CPU in one direction only if you wanted it to be right-side up. With the X-3 series, the logo rotates so that you can mount the pump in four different orientations. This might not sound like a big deal, but depending on your motherboard layout, it can make the process of installation a lot easier. No more awkwardly trying to make sure your pump inlets don’t put pressure on your RAM or fighting the tubing to get the pump installed. NZXT Kraken X53 Cooler Review| Performance Built with an aluminum radiator, the Kraken X53 RGB effectively transfers heat away from the CPU for optimal cooling. The radiator has dimensions of 123 millimeters in width and 275 millimeters in depth, providing a compact and efficient cooling solution.

Next come the fans, which in this instance is a pair of Aer P120 fans. These are 120mm by 26mm solutions, which range in speed from 500 to 2000 RPM, driving up to 73.11 CFM per fan! Static pressure is also relatively high at 2.93 mmH2O, and the noise levels are shown not to exceed 36 dBA. These fans spin on a fluid dynamic bearing, sipping power through the 4-pin PWM connections. The fans are said to last for 60,000 hours, which is nearly seven years of life, overextending the six-year warranty! If after disabling all other detected programs the Kraken is still not responding in CAM, this could indicate an issue with the USB cable or the USB connection to the Motherboard. If you are using any kind of USB Expansion, Splitter, or Hub within the PC it is recommend to connect the Kraken directly to the Motherboard's internal USB 2.0 header to confirm if the issue is with the Kraken itself or due to this device between the Kraken and the Motherboard. Equipped with two 120 mm fans, the Kraken X53 RGB assists in achieving efficient cooling. The fan speeds can be varied between 500 RPM to 1500 RPM, allowing for customizable cooling performance based on individual needs. The airflow capacity of the fans ranges from a minimum of 17.48 cubic feet per minute (cfm) to a maximum of 52.44 cfm, providing substantial cooling power. The Kraken X53 features a 240mm radiator cooled by two Aer P 120mm fans and is excellent for small-to-mid-sized cases. It doesn’t entirely give the cooling performance of its bigger brothers, the X63 (280mm) and X73 (360mm), but it allows for a lot more versatility when it comes to installation. Instead of being relegated to only a top mount, the X53 easily installs into the front (and even rear) of many popular PC cases. With these programs disabled from startup, restart your PC and confirm if the issue is still occurring or if the issue has been resolved. If you are able to control your Kraken's RGB again, try re-enabling each disabled program one at a time, restarting between each program being added until you find the offending program. My Kraken RGB is still not responding in NZXT CAM Even without the previous complaints, we still haven't looked into the encroachment on the memory! Again, we feel like NZXT just glossed right over this. In a typical orientation, the cooler hits the memory, which is a deal-breaker as to the rules of what you do with a cooler! Asking why leads to more frustration! We are told to change the orientation, leaving only two options, as the USB cable also causes issues with the memory! For those with all of the memory slots filled, you have two choices of orientation, and you just get to deal with the wiring and make it work and look decent. Source: Rich Edmonds / Windows Central (Image credit: Source: Rich Edmonds / Windows Central) Who it's for The addition of the HUE 2 outgoing lead is the next evolution. We loved the rotatable top, as there have been instances where we have dealt with inverted logos and the like. Installation is simple, and once you have all the connections made, CAM does offer quite a bit to play with, in the RGB lighting department, and you will need it to control the speed of the pump.

In my opinion, this is one instance where they needed fewer hands-on this design, or maybe they needed just one more to point out the obvious. We find there are just too many problems and a couple of them compound as you try to find a solution to what should work out of the box, and it seems the Kraken X53 cannot do what everyone else, including their previous solutions, did and still do! Sometimes change for the sake of change is not the way to go! If your Kraken detects while connected to an alternative USB port, this can indicate an issue with the USB cable needing to be replaced. In this situation please reach out to our Customer Supportteam. My Kraken shows up in NZXT CAM, but the color is wrong A 10% bigger LED ring allows for more vivid RGB. A rotatable top accommodates re-orienting the logo no matter the direction the cooler is installed. Better Control The tubing that connects the head unit to the radiator is comprised of a pair of 400mm long hoses. The tubing is an ultra-low evaporation rubber, and from end to end, are covered in nylon braided sleeving. If after completing the above steps your Kraken is either failing, defective, or you require further assistance then please reach out to our Customer Supportteam for further assistance. Please be sure to have the following information on hand, as this will be needed in the event that a Replacement Part or RMA(Return Merchandise Authorization) is necessary.

Mine came damaged but this was just the fans, the AIO itself was fine. Had it over a year in 2 different PCs and it has served me well. Fine nylon mesh sleeves strengthen the rubber tubing, providing durability and protection against mishandling. Adjust the orientation of the pump head to fit the needs of your motherboard without affecting the direction of the logo. The pump orientation can be changed in 30° increments to reduce interference with other components. Specification:
