About this deal

For those with any outdoor plans this weekend, Saturday will be the best day. A dry and fine day is forecast for most of Northern Ireland with sunny skies and light winds but the chance of the odd patch of cloud early in the morning and later in the evening.

Met Eireann has said 'snow is possible' for some parts of Ireland within days as a cold snap takes hold. Wednesday will continue to be dry for most areas, with large areas of cloud cover around but a threat of showers developing, which may merge into longer spells of rain and will be most frequent during the morning, before turning increasingly light and patchy. Where are the best places to see the northern lights in the UK? But the Met Office is predicting less balmy weather in the weeks to come. The forecaster said: "Temperatures are likely to be near average, although increasing slightly in sunnier spells, compared to previous days. It will be largely dry during the evening with some clear intervals. There will be moderate to brisk north-easterly winds and overnight will continue mainly dry. Temperatures will reach 8°C for Plymouth, 7°C for Edinburgh and 9°C for London. Dry with sunny spells for the end of the week Thursday night will see lingering rain in parts of the north and east will clear early on with further showers and clear spells developing. Lowest temperatures of three to six degrees in moderate to fresh southwest winds, veering northwest later. FridayThe Met Office has said that today Brits in the north can expect 'showers, potentially heavy and thundery' while there will be sunny spells and average temperatures elsewhere in the country. Looking ahead to longer range predictions the forecaster said temperatures are likely to be 'near average' for early September. Mr Keates said: "On Saturday we will see showers developing from late morning in some central, eastern and northern areas, but also with some sunny spells through the day.

Rainfall totals will tend to be higher across western areas of the UK, especially coasts and hills, although in general nothing exceptional for this time of year. Meanwhile parts of the far north, in particular the Northern Isles will likely see less rainfall than elsewhere. Ireland’s meteorological agency said: “Fine and frosty to begin for many Saturday with icy patches and some mist and fog in places. A little less cold in the west and south with the odd light shower. Sunny spells will develop in many areas, but it will turn cloudier from the Atlantic in the afternoon with rain developing near west and southwest coasts towards evening. Chilly, with afternoon highs of 5C to 8C generally, but again, remaining milder in the southwest. Light variable winds will become light or moderate southeasterly as the day goes on. On Tuesday evening and night a band of rain is expected to move in from the Atlantic which could turn a bit wintry on hills as temperatures fall close to freezing. Some light rain is forecast on Thursday morning. There is some cloud forecast throughout the remainder of the morning, with sunny intervals forecast around midday. It will be a cloudy afternoon with some light rain at 3pm.Some thundery showers could hit parts of Yorkshire on Thursday says the Met Office, with some sunny spells and cloud in parts. Sky News has analysed the weather on the first weekend of May for the last 10 years to predict whether the coronation will be a sunny day of celebrations or a washout. Rather cloudy Sunday night with outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Later in the night, patchy rain and drizzle will move away to the south with clear spells developing from the north. There will be some mist and fog patches as winds will be light or moderate northwesterly, with lowest temperatures of around 4C to 6C.”
