About this deal

Ending Slash for good felt satisfying. I loved reading his death and I loved Finch for epically killing him off for good. I also didn't mind Skystar being a secondary villain in this one. The following morning, they say farewell, and Riverstar and Drizzle set off… and then Finch wades into the river: she's changed her mind. The river's still a bit swollen, but they ride on the raft almost to the forest. They come upon some rapids upstream of the falls, however, which destroys the raft and nearly kills Drizzle. They know they have to go on foot from there, but at least they're close to the forest. With this life, I give you initiative, so you will always lead and never follow. Even if your courage fails, your imagination will find a way to guide you. When the Clan Founders are looking into the puddle, Shadowstar is seen hunched over beside Skystar and Thunderstar. When Riverstar states that Frostpaw is strong enough, Shadowstar asks that even if it kills her, and asks strong enough for this. No One Could Survive That!: Slash falls into the river and disappears under the surface. Riverstar assumes the current dragged him to the bottom, and Arc comments that there's no way Slash will survive that.

All right that’s about it. Was rather disappointed in this one but it had its moments, and the meditation stuff was really cool. Maybe read if you’re a die hard Warriors fan or are super into RiverClan, but other than that you can give this one a pass. I mostly enjoyed this book. I wish that there was lesss retelling of the events that happen in DOTC books and more of park cats and life in the park and I wish that we got more from Riverstar in general but I liked the book I guess. Ripple doesn't feel like the same cat after his journey down the river, so he renames himself River Ripple for the river that brought him there.Fainting: Ripple passes out from exhaustion after going over a waterfall and making it out of the river. Clean Pretty Reliable: After going over the waterfall, Drizzle isn't breathing. Finch performs a feline version of CPR, pushing on her chest, and Drizzle is okay, just weak, after coughing up a little water.

The magic and mystery of Riverstar as a unique and slightly eccentric character has been completely wiped away with this book. There's a whole lot more needless love drama I didn't care to read about. A lot of this book (about 50%) is just downright recycled plot elements from Dawn of the Clans but this time from Riverstar's POV. Skystar is still the worst (nothing new there, I suppose). The book feels drawn-out and doesn't really get interesting until past the 50% point when we enter "new" territory with Riverstar going to aid his old parkmates and feeling torn between his homes. And I know the DotC arc is quite controversial as most fans either love it or hate it. I personally love it. I loved reading how the Clans came to be, and DotC has some of my favorite characters ever. And I'll admit I loved reading it again from River Ripple's POV. I understand the repetition was annoying for other readers, I don't blame them. But that was not personally a qualm for me. Riverstar's Home is the only other Super Edition in addition to Firestar's Quest that does not contain an exclusive comic at the end of the book. [14] [15]

One thing I did like was Riverstar and Night’s relationship, that was really sweet and well done and I loved how they made sure it was completely platonic. Shoutbox

The next scene is several seasons later, at the end of Moth Flight's Vision. Wind Runner's daughter Moth Flight has found the Moonstone, a place to communicate with the spirit-cats, which were now called StarClan. The Clans each have a medicine cat now, and Wind Runner had been brought to the Moonstone when dying, where she'd been healed by StarClan, given nine lives, and renamed Windstar. River Ripple, now, was going to receive nine lives of his own. Ok. So when this book was first announced, I was really excited. I loved Riverstar! And returning to DotC would be nice. But I'm disappointed with what we got with this.
