The Philips Hue Smart plug enables you to integrate “dumb” lights into your Philips Hue lighting schemes, although you’re limited to switching them on and off.. Meanwhile, the Go’s 12V charging port has been moved away from an embedded ridge that props up the portable light at an angle, making it easier to cast the Go’s light on a wall while it’s plugged in. Filament lights What’s particularly nifty about the Smart button is that you can program it to automatically trigger different scenes according to the time of day. For example, you could set the Smart button to turn on a warm, bright scene in the morning, a cool energizing scene in the afternoon, and an ultra-dim scene (for, say, finding your way to the bathroom) in the wee hours. Slated for November is a refresh of the Philip Hue Go portable (and battery-powered) color light fixture. It will feature the same hemispherical design as the original, but adds Bluetooth connectivity. That feature enables you to control the light without a Hue Bridge, or if you have a Bridge, when you’re beyond its reach. As well as Hue lights, the Smart Button can control the Hue Smart Plug in exactly the same way. This means it can be used to fire up a heater, a fan, a lamp or pretty much anything that plugs into a wall outlet.
