It is important to note that MEL is not about compliance (though certainly MEL can help clients design, monitor, and evaluate systems to help them attain compliance goals). We believe that no program is complete without a MEL component to that end. Is MEL the same Thing as Change Management? For example, we might conduct a survey at the six-month mark for an NGO that is funding a development initiative aimed at reducing gender-based violence in Colombia. After all, the initial plan articulated by an organization is more often just the beginning, and rarely does any program go according to plan. The most successful impact programs are those that constantly adapt and adjust. What Are The Measurable Benefits of MEL? At the core, MEL is a system or cycle with all three components, monitoring, evaluation, and learning, working in tandem and as a thread through all project and program phases – from early design through implementation and completion.

This form of strategic mapping allows us to develop a robust and cohesive monitoring approach to ensure the impact program is on a path to success. We take the information we have collected to the team to provide a comprehensive picture. This would include foundationally: MeLCat (Michigan electronic Library Catalog) is the state of Michigan inter-library loan program (ILL) of the participating Michigan libraries. The cataloged 49,346,993 items loaned between the libraries are books, DVDs, CDs, and audiobooks. They are transported between the libraries through the Regional Interlibrary Delivery Service (RIDES), a commercial van delivery service. There are about 90,000 items circulated between libraries each month at no cost to the library patron. There are over 60,000 delivery stops for library items done each year between the statewide libraries with each stop containing several items. [1] During the fiscal year 2004-2005 there were about 20 million library items requested and delivered between Michigan libraries. [2]I did have to boost the gain considerably to make the volume equivalent to that of the Rode VideoMicro attached to my Canon EOS 80D DSLR, which shares the same capsule as far as I understand, although obviously the pre-amp and converter in the camera also play their role. Indeed Rode notes the VideoMic Me-L has the potential to sound better than the analogue VideoMic Me version for just that reason: the Me-L exploits Rode’s own built-in pre-amp and analogue to digital converter, whereas the older VideoMic Me has to rely on whatever is inside the phone. That said, the combination of VideoMicro on my DSLR vs VideoMic Me-L on my phone often yielded better results overall as you’ll see and hear in my video above. For example, Resonance has been working with a company consortium from The Sustainable Agriculture Initiative (SAI) platform—including leading multinational agribusinesses such as PepsiCo, Nestlé, and Ingredion—to build pre-competitive and cross-sector partnerships that advance sustainable agricultural supply chains in Pakistan. Given the diversity of client needs and initiatives in which we partner, MEL approaches are unique for each as well. Resonance has developed and operationalized MEL plans, co-developed theories of change and results frameworks, and designed third-party evaluations across every technical sector in over 25 countries, including conflict zones and fragile states.
