About this deal

We will see soon enough. Right now it’s “they will sell to nobody”, “but the lens selection”, or “but their AF still needs to mature”.

S5IIX Overview - Digital Photography Review Panasonic Lumix DC-S5IIX Overview - Digital Photography Review

So in general there is no burden but caprice. And there is absolutely no sense to develop separate photo and video market with MILC technology. When you can use same sensor and lenses for both. This is not only economical nonsense, but it also harming the environment, and make products more expensive.

Video-vs-photo - Well yeah I am aware of the rolling shutter values of most cameras from the last five or ten years. For a full frame 6k readout, most recent cameras have been around 20ms, probably on average a range from 16-28ms, kinda like you said. They're pretty much all roughly the same (slower than what I'd want) unless you crop in. Thanks to host of new and improved features, the LUMIX S5IIX and S5II are able to deliver truly astounding photo and video performance, including high-speed burst shooting at up to 9fps with mechanical shutter and 30fps with electronic shutter (capable of capturing up to 300 images), a 96-megapixel High Resolution Mode (JPEG/RAW) and Dual Native ISO sensitivity, which minimises noise and allows a maximum ISO of 51200 (204800 when Extended). The differences between the Lumix S5 II and S5 IIX amount to much more than a fancy paint job. Although they are quite technical and deep, the S5 IIX’s advantages will be highly significant for serious and professional filmmakers, and will probably make the price difference look very modest by comparison.

Panasonic LUMIX S5 II vs S5 IIX - key differences explained

The styling of the S5 II is very much in keeping with that of the original model: it's a mid-sized, fairly squared-off design with a very distinct SLR-like shape to it (compared, say, to Nikon's Z-series cameras). Despite being the smaller model in the company's L-mount lineup, it has extensive external control points, including details such as a dedicated AF mode switch, that are unusual at this level. Both models are built around a newly developed 24-megapixel 35mm full-frame CMOS sensor and imaging engine. The sensor supports Hybrid Phase Detection Auto-Focus, a first for LUMIX cameras, while the new engine provides superb image quality and high bit-rate video performance on a par with the LUMIX S1H.not the begining, I would say a good fix. they did begin with DFD only FF with a huge price but they now know what the masses want. good AFC and cheap. The camera's battery life rating is a rather disappointing 370 shots per charge, per CIPA standard testing methods. As always, these numbers tend to significantly underestimate how many shots you can typically expect (unless your shooting style is very energy-intensive). A 370 shot-per-charge rating will typically give you plenty of charge for a day's shooting, but you'll want to keep a USB power source near to hand for intensive shoots. A power-saving mode gives a rating of 1,250 shots per charge for viewfinder shooting. What the company has said is that its algorithms have been re-worked and that the camera assesses camera motion more precisely. We've been impressed with what we've seen from the S5 II so far, in terms of keeping both stills still and video clips smooth. The Boost IS mode, which tries to cancel all movement for a tripod-like video look, is particularly impressive. Panasonic's rivals have increasingly added 10-bit capture capability in this class, but the S5 II goes beyond these with a range of support tools and features that aren't as commonplace amongst the competition, so far. Now answer the question where the S5 II lags years behind the competition, for example the A7IV! Why is this camera a joke - finally give substantive, technical reasons!!!
