About this deal

She had always loved reading and she felt that there was no better tie to write her own novel. After she published her debut in 2013, there was no stopping her and she could not be happier. In short, I thought there were a ton of disconnects. Between the plot, the characters, the build up. There were multiple scenes that I thought didn’t make sense in relation to the book. I won’t say how I would have liked the characters to be, because this is not my work and I respect that this is how Shantel envisioned her characters, but for me, it was a miss. Needless to say, it was hard for me to finish this book. It wasn’t keeping my attention. Which really was a let down for me, because I was ready for Tyson. I was nervous about the secret society aspect since it’s not my favorite trope. The LORDS is an underground society of the world’s most powerful people and their offspring. Ryat has gone through some troubling actions to get initiated and even once he was through, the rituals were barbaric at times. They are judge, jury and executioners but they do live by a code. There were so many twists and turns in this story surrounding the LORDS and I wasn’t entirely prepared for some of the surprises we learn towards the end. Matt is just an awful dude and kept me on my toes as he eluded everyone time and time again until the end. While Shantel is passionate about writing, the family will always come first. As such, she spends most evenings at home with her daughters and her husband alongside their dog and cat. But I am here for Carnage and the Spade brothers. Obsessed with this world and with all the epilogues with their kids it’s got me excited for the next gen!

I am at an absolute loss for words about this book. I was so nervous to read it and I don’t know why I waited so long. Ryat is everything I want in a dark romance anti-hero. He is possessive and dominant but also controlling. I enjoyed how he soften for Blakely even when he was dominating her. She always had a voice and was always protected. He does some messed up manipulative things along the way that gave me pause but it was also really hot too. I loved every minute of their spice and I love how he loved her. It was so raw and unfiltered once they were both all in. The sex is explicit, there are some things with wax-play, but it was also boring because the H+h fell into insta-lust without any relationship-building. Not saying that the author can’t write it because Sabotage was absolute filth and the characters had a better reason for their hate dynamic. With one foot in the Lords world and one foot out, Tyson is the mystery we’ve all wanted to solve. We get our answers - and then some, but you can’t even predict the twists and turns The Sacrifice will take along the way. Do yourself a favor, don’t look for spoilers and just dive right in asap! The suspense, there was A LOT and I was constantly gasping and screaming and was on the edge of my seat the entire time. The suspense is definitely intense. Sometimes the villain is the only one who wins because no one else is ruthless enough to fight him.Daddy Ryat who???? How about DADDY TYSON!!!!!! I have been waiting for so long to learn about Tysons history and let me tell you, Shantel Tessier DELIVERED!!!!!!! Tyson is a everything you want in a man and more. He is truly the definition of a Lord!!!!! After his chosen Whitney died, he had a plan to marry her sister Laikyn (Lake) to get revenge on her family for what they had put him through. Lake had always been obssesed with Tyson, seeing the things he would do to her sister, that would make her hot and bothered, but after she thought he had killed her sister, she despised him. He planned to make her beg for him, crave him, be his dirty whore that he would rub in her families face. I can’t get to much into details because YOU HAVE TO READ IT. Twists, turns, anger, sadness and man lots and lots of dirty sex lol. If you haven’t read The Ritual or The Sinner yet, I highly recommend you do, as the characters from those books make appearances in the story to Tyson. As it turns out Matt is on the outs, all due to him messing up whike on assignment with Ryat were he unnecessarily caused the demise of a women they weren’t contracted to kill.

Did you like that? It's okay, Lake. There will be lots of things that I do that your body will like." I want to be your good girl.” I groan at the sound of her voice—so eager to please me. “You are,” I tell her. Her nostrils flare, her pretty blue eyes swimming in tears that she hasn’t allowed to fall yet. “You’re disgusting.” I lower my lips to her ear, and whisper, “I am, but I will. make you crave everything I choose to do to you.” There were so many twists and turn getting thrown at you constantly that you basically held your breath the whole time you were reading. Just nonstop action and mystery.

Shantel Tessier is a Wall Street Journal and the USA Today bestselling author that is best known for her “Undescribable” series of novels. If you've read any of Shantel Tessier's books set in the Lord's world, you can expect more of the same dark, violent, filthy fun in The Sacrifice!

Book Genre: Academic, Adult, Adult Fiction, BDSM, College, Contemporary, Contemporary Romance, Dark, Erotica, New Adult, Romance, Suspense Our protagonist Laikyn was also very pale. She just cries and doesn't even show her strength. Apparently, there is no such thing. An all-new dark standalone romance from the USA Today & Wall Street Journal bestselling author, Shantel Tessier The Ritualhad everything in it, where the MMC has been preparing himself to be initiated in the Lords, a Secret Society at Barry University. He has done everything that is expected without question to be a Lord, and now it’s time for him to choose his Chosen during his Senior year. Every Lord gets to choose a girl from a list of girls that want to be part of the chosen. The girl Ryat Archer ends up with is already in an arranged relationship/marriage with another Lord. Ryat doesn’t care and doesn’t hesitate to ask Blakely to be his chosen. He ends up stalking her to get to know her routine and everything because he would have never considered her a choice for himself until he gets to know Blakely and realizes she’s not as innocent as everyone assumes. I'm tired of reading about fmcs who r treated like shit yet secretly enjoy all the nasty stuff that's done to them. Like yes i like me some dubcon situation and all that but when it's the same deal with all the lords, things get monotonous at this point. I had high hopes for Lake, I thought she was a strong character in the beginning, and there were times that she showed or thought of it and cheered her on. I really supported her. She really had gone through a lot, and it’s pretty understandable since she’s traumatized. In the end, I feel sorry for her. I do read about dubcon and… I love degradation, but as a cliche for me to say this, I guess for me I didn’t feel an authentic connection between both characters. (Maybe that’s just me). The way their relationship began was questionable, and I didn’t support it. In my head, I guess I kept second-guessing their relationship, but then again, it may be just me. However, they kind of both worked it out in the end.

Here I found the love story particularly difficult. The protagonist Tyson was together with the protagonist’s sister before this book . . . I found that very difficult . . . Precisely because I did not like the “justification” and could not understand it either . . . Too bad I underestimated my husband and didn’t realize he was more determined to punish me than I was to succeed at escaping. He’ll make me choke on those words I used to bind myself to him. Still, there are several authors that have influenced her writing career the most. Some of the most influential of these include J. Sterling, Colleen Hoover, Teresa Mummert, and Abbi Glines.Another book that I am asking myself why? Why did I wait so long to read this? I NEEDED this book, I have been in my fantasy era for so long, that I was starting to get bored again and this book woke me right up and got me out of an impending reading slump. THEN, once the author places the FL in jeopardy, she has to work out how these two are going to find each other to achieve that obligatory HEA… The characters in the story are simple but relatable and this is such an amazing book. Made readers’ cry, laugh, happy and excited readers got the chills so many times toward the end of this book. It completely blew reader’s mind. It managed to surpass high expectations of the reader. The world-building is so fully fleshed out and amazing that it’s almost as if author traveled to such a place, escaped from it, and then just wrote it all down.
