About this deal

The girls deduce that the young girl, who was actually Denis Curtis’s daughter, had been working with the drink’s seller, who was Denis Curtis’s father, to kidnap Steven. Towards the end of Top Marks for Murder Daisy goes red and tries to make out that Amina is only ‘alright’ and that’s exactly what she was like around Martitia, so I definitely saw that one coming. Every single time Daisy would say something like ‘I will never die’ or ‘We’ll be together forever’ I would feel my heart break. Today is the launch date for Death Sets Sail in Australia and New Zealand – and I know that some British and Irish fans have already got their copies too! The drinks seller had gone too far with the liquid chloroform that they were using to knock him out, and therefore murdered him.

This is beautiful Charlotte, my sister also started reading the series just a few days before Death Sets Sail arrived and is now on book 2: Arsenic for Tea! Robin Stevens was born in California and grew up in an Oxford college, across the road from the house where Alice in Wonderland lived. I started it straight away and got deeply caught in the plot, the romance, the twists and the magic of the detective society! At the end I was a bit confused, because it said Hazel had a really vivid dream when Aunt Lucy came to collect her and took her to the library, so did Daisy really come back to life, or was it just a dream. Since the first Murder Most Unladylike book, there have been ten subsequent books, along with four extra mini-books.

Don’t read the comments until you have FINISHED DEATH SETS SAIL if you don’t want to be totally spoiled for the ending. Nuala and May are on their way to London, to do important work for the Ministry … but what and who will they find when they get there? I loved how all the Wongs were involved in this book, with Rose almost giving up her life to save May’s, and with Mr Wong going along with the lie that Daisy and Hazel were policewomen! bruv alexander just wanted to speak the entire book and hazel didn’t let him speak not once not even at the end she just kissed him before he could say anything LMAO jgsfgakjhsds ?

That means only one thing … some of you will have FINISHED the book, and if you have I’d love to hear what you thought of it! And personally, I think the spoiler alert and “rules” (which, incidentally are merely guidelines since they cannot be enforced), are more likely to encourage the temptation than help resist it.

I’ve created a special post for this because I really want to keep what happens in this book secret for anyone who hasn’t yet read it – but I know that if you’ve finished it you’ll be DESPERATE to talk about it!

I honestly thought it was a new book because she said in her update video that she was WRITING in lockdown, but I have written a play script before, so maybe that’s what she’s doing! I was quite sad when I read the first chapter (listened to the first chapter in the Waterstones Zoom book event) and was quite reluctant to read on but the ending was so heartwarming with the fact that Daisy was actually alive!

I’m not always that great at expressing myself, but I hoped I managed to convey my absolute adoration for this book! I think it’s great that Daisy and Amina and Hazel and Alexander got together, and I loved that there was a code written in Amina’s letter at the end. I tried to crack the code and I got DAISY I’LL WAIT ALL MY LOVE AMINA which was honestly such a great (and cute) addition to the book and a way for me to feel more involved in the story. Daisy definitely tries to hide her feelings a lot, which is sad but understandable seeing as the series is set in the 1930s, when people were a lot less accepting than they are now. Better still, Hazel’s father has offered to take them on a Nile cruise afterwards, with Hazel’s sisters May and Rose in tow.

I found it so sweet when Hazel got embarrassed every single time she was alone with Alexander, but I was a bit like, Hazel! This is definitely my favourite Book out of all the MMUs, along with Death in the Spotlight and First Class Murder, which I both loved because of the plot, and this one is the same.
