About this deal

The Dungeon Tiles I set comes with everything you should need for a pretty wide variety of encounters. Despite this, the softer material also results in builds that aren’t as stable. Especially noticeable when attempting to move or lift a constructed room you have to be more careful and actually support the walls and tiles – which wasn’t really necessary with the solid normal clips. Constructed rooms don’t fall apart but they will sag when moved through the air. Note that these new sets aren’t the only way to get hold of these EZ clips. WizKids has also released these EZ clips separately as a product, which includes 100 clips – coming in a small plastic baggie. For those who found their hands hurting a lot after using the original clips, it is easy to recommend trying these EZ clips. If you’re playing on a wood surface, these could very easily scratch it up when you’re pushing the pieces together. In that case, I’d recommend connecting them in your hands and then placing them on the table. In addition, most advertising networks offer you a way to opt out of targeted advertising. These are meant to be used for the interior of the environment to add depth without taking up too much extra space.

While there is a proud tradition of running D&D games on grid paper or simply as “theatre of the mind”, there’s nothing quite like the experience of really bringing the setting to life with 3d terrain for everyone at the table to interact with. Sure, there are better/more ornate paint jobs in some of the other more expensive terrain options, but I’m not complaining! For the money, you could do MUCH worse than these! Additionally, it helps prevent disaster scenarios that might be caused by a curious pet, toddler, or clumsy player. There have been a few occasions in my own games that we were especially thankful for how sturdy these clips are! Material The purest Dungeons and Dragons experience is all about immersion. D&D players need to feel like they are in the game’s world, not just sitting at a table. The choice between half and full height walls certainly seems to split the crowd. There isn’t a definitive better product, with both having differing advantages and all of them coming pre-painted. Trading away the ease of view of the half height walls, the full height walls allow locations to be that bit more immersive. The wall hangings, while more would have been nice, do a great job of adding that little touch of flair to locations – before any sort of dungeon dressings or scatter terrain is added. Both of the full sets include the double sided floor tiles and can bring incredible locations to life, with there being only a slight tile count difference between the sets. Overall, the full height walls are, like the half height walls, a stunning way to upgrade your D&D or Pathfinder experience – regardless of which you choose to go for you’ll swiftly be able to build out locations for the next game night. Walls, doors, and other environmental factors become much more present and tangible which can greatly affect how the party is interacting with the world and operating in combat. I consider it a definite “level up” in our games. It’s had a major impact and has been especially useful for making the players really want to explore everything that each dungeon has to offer. Quality When it’s time to put everything up, removing the clips is similarly easy. It will take a little bit of muscle, but they pop out easily if you just make sure you have a firm grip on the tile and the clip.

Experience a perfect, continuous grid through the entire play space with our patented, modular, ultra-slim interior walls. Additionally, all tiles are reversible with wood design on one side and stone on the other for double the functionality! It helps to perfectly capture the feeling of the environment that you’re creating and adds to the immersion.

What Are The WizKids WarLock Dungeon and Town & Village Tiles Like?

They definitely worked great as a visual tool to add that extra level of immersion to the games, but I also noticed my players starting to play way more strategically than when we were using the cardboard Dungeon Tiles or just drawing the map on the gaming mat. In the Dungeon Set 1, you’ll find that there are some thinner walls and doors that don’t have slots for the clip to connect. Instead, they have two metallic tabs. The 1” tall walls are the perfect size. They add that depth and environment but don’t get in the way when the players at your table are moving their pieces around the dungeon. As for the durability, there’s nothing worse than spending good money on something that gets ruined by a sudden fall, spill, or fey prank. Unless you’re taking a chainsaw to these tiles, they should be able to easily handle whatever happens to them. By the same token, if your group isn’t particularly big on tactical combat and fully immersive gameplay, you probably won’t get much value out of this.

Items currently discounted by other promotions are also not eligible for additional discounts via discount codes. When using the 2” x 8” tiles to make a corridor for example, the full height walls in a way make it feel narrower – as it is harder to see down from all angels. This is where the immersion that the full height walls bring can come crumbling down, as players have to shift about to see what’s going on. Products such as Dwarven Forge, which features full height walls, get around this by having an unusable half space where the walls attach to the tile. Whilst somewhat annoying having that half space it means that miniatures and scatter terrain are often away from the walls, not straight up against them – thus being easier to see from all angels. You’ll also notice that the offset walls provide a seamless grid throughout the entire play space. This means you won’t have to force and fidget your miniatures because of terrain pieces’ corners invading the play area. Depending on the exact size and nature, you should have no problem making reasonably creative 3-4 room dungeons with a single set. Of course, there are plenty of expansions that you can also get to stretch that even further. I would recommend being careful when you’re connecting the tiles though! As I mentioned, these don’t really have a lot of “give” to them.Experience a perfect, continuous grid through the entire play space with our patented, modular, ultra-slim interior walls. Even beyond adding the immersion for the flavor of it, it can also add a new level of tactics and strategy to your game. Since the release of the Dungeon Tiles II set there is now the option between half height (1 inch tall) and full height (2 inch tall) walls. There are a few important differences between them, though which is better will depend on the situation and personal preference. The half height style, which is what Dungeon Tiles 1 features, allows for much more visibility. However, the full height walls allow for accessories to be added and being full height are slightly more immersive. Currently WizKids has yet to announce any further sets with the full height design, whilst there are already other sets in the half height style, with more confirmed to be on the way. It doesn’t mean there won’t be more full height sets. At least for now though, if you are looking to expand your collection down the line half height is the option to go with. For most tiles, one clip in the center is generally enough. Naturally, you’ll need to use more for larger pieces or if you have any particularly clumsy players at the table. (Hey, I’m not pointing any fingers!) As with the base sets, the expansion sets offer up a consistent level of quality that really take your scenery to the next level and they’re all compatible with one another utilising the same clip system (with the exception of the cavern sets that are just positioned without clipping to each other). Accessories

Experience a perfect, continuous grid through the entire play space with our patented, modular, ultra-slim interior walls. Additionally, all tiles are reversible with wood design on one side and stone on the other for double the functionality! In recent years more and more D&D players have turned to dungeon tiles to add a level of realism and depth to their gameplay. These modular terrain pieces vary in their design and materials: from high-quality painted 3D tiles to more simplistic 2D cardboard variants. The basic goal with any dungeon tile, however, is to provide players and DMs with the ability to create an endless number of dungeons, wilderness and city environments. Virtually all tiles on the market also include squares or hexes to support combat and exploration rules. For this reason they’re also often paired with a D&D battlemat and used with miniatures or characters, NPS and monsters crafted using a D&D token maker. This works for all of the floor tiles and most of the wall and door tiles. (Some of the walls and doors use a different mechanism that I’ll explain in a moment.)Personally, I like to build out the dungeon without the Tile Clips first just to make sure it looks perfect before I begin connecting the pieces. If it’s all looking how I envisioned, then I begin securing the pieces together with the Tile Clips. As you can see, the core goal is to provide a straightforward floor-and-door structure. You also have the option to line what you create with one-inch walls – WizKids claims this height makes it easier to reach into a structure and move figures around during gameplay. Also included are several doors that actually open, and some thin walls that can be slipped in between tiles. These are used to create smaller rooms within your final structure. The last pieces of note are the clips which hold it all together. I'll do a little sidebar on those later, as there's a slight technical hiccup there. Full height 2 tall walls are perfect for players that want a deeper immersion into their game play. Offset walls provide you with the ability to place figures in any square on the grid, without pesky corners eating into your play area.
