Since then, developer CD Projekt Red has released a variety of patches designed not just to improve those versions of the game but fundamentally fix them. So is Cyberpunk 2077 finally playable on those consoles? Well, to paraphrase one of my favorite Simpsons quotes, it ain’t getting any more playable, that’s for sure. In the weeks since, I have leisurely played through Cyberpunk 2077 for the first time. My eyes are as fresh as they can be, since I skipped the initial game to wait for the inevitable second swing. My verdict, put shortly, if you’re looking for the soundbite: Cyberpunk 2077 is now a pretty good game. Whenever a game is released on PC, you can always count on the community to do what the developers won't (or in most cases can't) and mod it in every way imaginable. This goes for good games but is especially important for games that came out in a state most wouldn't consider acceptable. For a game like Cyberpunk 2077, which has now become synonymous with terms like "rushed," "lazy," and "disaster," to name a few, mods might be your best chance at enjoying the game at all as the developers struggle to fix their game years after release. Cyberpunk 2077 is an open world, action-adventure steampunk game where citizens are obsessed with power, glamour and body modification. Discover the massive open world of Night City. On the other hand, how can you blame anyone who was burnt by Cyberpunk 2077 and decided to walk away from the game for good? Cyberpunk 2077 simply should not have been released in the state it was in. That statement speaks to the game’s ludicrous technical problems as well as the various signs that indicated the launch version of the game wasn’t anywhere close to being representative of the intended final product. To get started making Cyberpunk 2077perform that extra bit better, load up the game’s main menu. From here enter Settingsand tab over to the Graphicstab using your bumpers. Here we are given five different options to play with: Film Grain, Chromatic Aberration, Depth of Field, Lens Flare,and Motion Blur. Look, the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Cyberpunk are still not the ideal way to play the game. They look rough, they still suffer from framerate issues, and they occasionally suffer from downright weird problems (missing pedestrians, disappearing objects, etc.). If you’re planning on playing Cyberpunk 2077 on those consoles, you’re still going to have to put up with a variety of technical issues and shortcomings. There will probably never be an entirely smooth version of the game available on those consoles. In February 2022, CD Projekt released a substantial patch, version 1.5, for Cyberpunk 2077. It contains a large number of tweaks and fixes, some new content, and native support for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Reading the patch notes is a lengthy time commitment, but the general gist is that CD Projekt has overhauled some part of nearly every game system in Cyberpunk 2077, from combat AI, to player stat functions, to the economy, to the way that vehicles work. Original story: After teases, and some leaks, Microsoft has revealed the Cyberpunk 2077 Limited Edition Xbox One X console bundle. The console is set to launch in June, three months before the Cyberpunk's September 17 release date.All other visual effects and graphics preset are identical between both platforms. Xbox Series X runs the game with a ray-tracing mode at 30 FPS while a Performance mode bumps the frame rate to 60 FPS. There are no ray-traced reflections but local shadows are enhanced while the reflections are improved with a higher quality SSR. This cheat can be exploited on guaranteed loot that spawns in specific missions. For instance, if a known Epic or Legendary item is always available, you can save and potentially reroll it to obtain the maximum number of mod slots. Likewise, if you're short on specific crafting materials you can reroll an item for a higher rarity to ensure you get the specific crafting materials you're looking for when you dismantle the item. However, there’s no denying that the Cyberpunk 2077 last-gen updates took that version of the game from “unplayable” to “nonoptimal.” Those versions of the game are now free of their biggest technical problems and now run well enough to be considered functional in the minds of many. That’s obviously not a rave review, but anyone looking to play the game on those devices for whatever reason will find that this is the best that experience is ever going to get. Again, I mean that literally. CD Projekt Red has released the last PS4/Xbox One update they currently intend to release for the game, so unless they surprise everyone with additional last-gen patches, the current PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game are as “fixed” as they’re ever going to be. Cyberpunk 2077 will come with a day one patch that offers several next-gen improvements to the Xbox One version when played on the Xbox Series X system. The exact details haven't been shared, but are likely to include improved load times, frame rate, and visuals.
